I have loved reading all the posts since my last one. I was somewhat ashamed to have been so open about my feelings but after reading these post it just makes me feel like Navy Moms are such caring loving giving moms. I too have pushed myself to do things but I do them I also find more food around the house, but more than anything I wanted to share my feelings and see if I was a weird mom. I like the thought about the umbilical cord my son also would like it to dry up! Thank you moms for being there

Thank you. Just reading through the posts makes me cry...tears of joy for other moms with hearts of love for their grown children. I have found that daily prayer is essential as my son is the first in our extended family serving in the military...I miss him.

It's so nice to be able to talk to moms who are so similar. I was always either a SAHM or I was employed by my children's school for many years, so i was always with my children. I am now an empty nester mom of 5 adult children. My oldest daughter lives in MD with my 2 grandchildren, oldest son is going back to college for a 2nd degree and renting a house near the campus, middle daughter is a Navy gf getting ready to graduate from college in May, She will then move to Hawaii to be with her Navy submariner bf for a year. My next child is our youngest daughter who is going to Univ. of NM (where we live) and she will continue to go there for at 4 more semesters due to her wonderful scholarship. Last, but not least, is my baby boy who is now in Pensacola waiting for his A school to start. He enlisted while in high school and hasn't turned 19 yet. My husband has been working in MD since last Feb, so I have been home all alone now, since my sailor left in Oct. for BC. I will be moving back to MD in May, (after my daughter graduates from college) and I look forward to spending a lot of time with my oldest daughter and my grandchildren. My parents are still living and in poor health, so I'm sure I will be their main caretaker when I get there. The last 6 years, I have lived in NM due to a relocation of my husband's job, but thank goodness, by the time we became empty nester's, he was relocated back to where our family lives. I just have to get through the next 4 months here by myself and my hectic life will begin again, but this time with my grandchildren. :)

Hi Everyone--I am new to this group, but wanted to introduce myself to you all.  My 23 year old daughter and 18 year old high school senior son are at home for now, but I know that won't last much longer. My middle son is in GL in PreBuds and will be heading to SD in March, if all goes according to plan.  It has been so hard having one of my birdies leave my nest, and knowing that the other 2 are following soon makes me a little nervous, to say the least. It's been very emotional for me having my first fledgling move far from home.  N4M's has been a tremendous help and support!

Not having the kids at home....food is still here, ice cream in the house after 3 weeks was never heard of before. Man are we going to get fat or save money on food. Catch myself thinking I should go he what my son is doing, then remember that he's not here. We talked a lot and I am a hands on mom....my son is hoping that the umbilical cord drys up and breaks off. Just hard to know that I can't talk to him at least. I have always been busy but find myself kind of forcing me to get things done now.
