Carolina Mom, that's sounds great! When you say you found a navy scrapbook do you mean the color navy or US Navy?

Hi CarolinaMom,

I too am trying to remain calm however the closer the date gets, the harder it is. I really like the theme you have for his party. What type of food are you serving? Your idea about the note cards is a great idea. I can't imagine not sending him any mail while he is in BC. They need our support as it will be as tough on them as it is on us.

Robsproudmom,

I suspect that the waterworks will be flowing continuously for days and days as the date gets closer. I can honestly say that since I discovered this group on Monday, I have already found some relief in reading the stories that everyone is sharing. Thank you EVERYONE for your responses. Please keep posting as the words that you post help others, whether you know it or not.

Prayers to all of you.

And write to them as much as possible! Send pics, jokes, sports news, funny or every day family news. Be positive :)

Hi Doxie Mom & Carolina Mom!
Mine is there now. He left Dec. 9 so we're about half way. We had an anchors away party as we'll with friends & family :). I cried a lot before he left and the week after too. Christmas was hard too, but it really does get better. The down side of the division for EOD (spec ops) is that we got the "I've arrived" phone call theorist night but none since then. I've only received one letter so far. That's been hard. I just want to hear news of him. But, as you will soon find out in the Navy, "no news is good news".
This
This group is a wealth of info and a fabulous support! So, welcome!

My sailor is heading to BC in GL on Feb 3. Does anyone have any advice?

They might be referring to a PIR meet and greet in Great Lakes.

Ugh! The waiting is the hardest part! It's tough knowing when they are facing one of the many "make or break" tests and holding your breath waiting for that phone call or text that tells how they did.

Even worse when they fail on the first attempt and are facing the dreaded "double-tap" on a final try. Nerrrrrrrrrrrve wracking! We always hope for the best while fearing the worst. Such a tough and demanding program.

Where is the meet and greet? I live in Central NJ.

KJT'sMom I am right there with you! My son is still at BC in GL and is also EOD. They've got a long hard road ahead but it sounds rewarding! I am so proud! Pray, pray, pray!!!
See you at Meet & Greet Feb. 6?!

Our sons are tight like brothers. So we have to be just as tight to support each other! I just got my blue candle yesterday and I know he won't be deployed for a while yet. Personally, I really NEED this group, and I have a feeling I'm not alone!

Thanks Moms for the recent posts.  My SR is still at GL, but nice to hear how happy sons are (even if ther Momma's aren't).  I know my son is VERY EXCITED for it all.  I'll just be doing a LOT more praying these next few years (I guess 6 total).  God will be happy about that.  :)  You all help me keep on the positive side of this EOD thing.  Also, glad to hear this group is a tight group.  That is AWESOME!  Friends made here will be for a LIFETIME!  :)  Thanks again!
