Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If you don't mind me asking, when did your son pick his orders? I am graduating from college in May and need to start applying for jobs and my boyfriend and I were hoping to be able to live together (and hopefully get married!) once he graduates if he gets orders stateside but I'm just wondering how long it will be before we know where he will end up because the timing of my job search is somewhat dependent on when he'll be choosing orders! (It's a really complicated story with the internship that I'm currently working at lol!)

Comment by Swims on December 30, 2011 at 8:28am: My son just finished dive school and will be moving on to the next phase.... I know what you mean about "choking up" mom2jd. Two days ago I was thinking about his next step in EOD and just started crying... unfortunately, he was in the room and he just said, "1 year mom, I have 1more year of training." but... he didn't get it, not being a mom... :-) We are so proud of our guys.... I'm glad we can come here for support.
