My son just finished dive school and will be moving on to the next phase.... I know what you mean about "choking up" mom2jd.  Two days ago I was thinking about his next step in EOD and just started crying... unfortunately, he was in the room and he just said, "1 year mom, I have 1more year of training."  but... he didn't get it, not being a mom... :-)  We are so proud of our guys.... I'm glad we can come here for support.

WOW mom2jd, I am gonna cry now also.  My son leaves for basic Mar 14.  I am single mom and he is my youngest.  Do the boys get any time between boot camp and (can't remember the name) but the 4 weeks after boot camp. to come home?

I couldn't pick--so I just say I'm a winner either way (diplomatic, huh!).  Although my Navy son says that since he is my favorite, I should be cheering for Navy.  Anyway, the game is over now and Navy won---so congrats to Navy!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.  Whether everyone can be with their loved ones or not, I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Thank you for replying pench.  My son did get a flight from SD yesterday.  It was just so down to the wire, I wasn't sure if he would.  If he didn't make it into this class, I was trying to estimate how much longer he would be in California.  He is coming from SEAL training and is eager to begin his new path.  I've watched a few episodes of "Bomb Patrol, Afghanistan" trying to get a feel for what he will be doing.  I had been preparing for all of the stages of SEAL training, and sort of knew what to expect.  I have a lot to learn about EOD training.  It is encouraging to hear that your son Loves it!!
