Kimberly68, I'm headed to Norfolk the end of Aug and looking forward to a tour of Little Creek. I met Chris at the base airport when he flew back from Bahrain, stayed a wk with him at the Navy Lodge and helped him find an apt and get settled. He started work 3 days before I left but wasn't comfortable taking me on base yet and there was sooo much to get done and adapt to in being back in the states for the 1st time in 20 mo.

Yes, my son loves the Norfolk area. He was stationed there before Bahrain and was hoping to get back to that area. I wish it was closer to OH! LOL Is your son going to Bahrain for his next duty station?

We were there a few months ago and were so impressed! The base is amazing! We loved the whole Norfolk/VB area.

ChrisyDVM, I'm still in shock! Our son told us 6-9 months!

Yes, many are there for 2 years and some only for a year. I did a lot of praying!

Hi Everyone! I just joined today. My son has been at Little Creek about two years. I never thought to look for a Little Creek group before, and I'm so glad I found you all! He is EOD. He and his girlfriend are very happy in the Norfolk area.
ChrisyDVM, 20 months in Bahrain! Straight?

I'm so sorry to hear this. I live in OH also and don't know of anyone that could help but you might reach out to the Navy Moms of Norfolk Facebook page as some of those ladies do live in Norfolk. There is also a Navy Moms of Norfolk and Surrounding Areas FB page. Best wishes for your sailor.
