Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Hi. It can take anywhere from 1 month to about 3. Jus depends on him having all the info they ask for. In regards to the move you can choose whether you would like to move yourself or let the navy do it. It's more convenient to let the movers the navy contracts do it. Only because yuou don't have to do a thing but be present. Lol hope that helps.

My husband worked very hard on getting all the stuff done he had to do on his end and got live ashore in a month and 10 days. it all depends on how motivated your sailor is and how well he stays on top of the office to get his packet pushed through quickly.

My husband just moved over to GL from RTC this past weekend and got his packet yesterday. hopefully he gets approved soon. once its approved how long before i can move up there? how long does it take for the navy to move you?

my husband graduated march 25th and i moved into base housing (live ashore packet approved) may 7th, we had keys april 28th! My husband was on top of his information, you know the saying the squeeky wheel get the oil! he checked on it almost daily!

hey do you mind explaining the moving process to me? i am just curious.. when his packet got approved did he call and tell you? how long after it was approved did you move in? did the navy move your stuff to your new place or to a storage? did you already have an apartment? did your husband sign the lease?
sorry i am full of questions. i am planning to move as soon as my husbands packet gets approved. i want to have an apartment ready so i was debating on to move before the packet gets approved or not.. i want our stuff to go directly to our new place. i was thinking maybe my husband could go once he is phase 2 during liberty to look at apartments.. how did you guys do it?
oh yeah.. and we can't live on base housing because they do not allow our dog (Siberian huskie) to live on base
