For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

@Nvymom4. Tell your son to show up on time, make an effort in class, don't cheat (or know about cheating without saying anything) and don't be a knucklehead outside of class.
If he does all of that, he'll be fine. Thank him for his service!

He will be given a more accurate graduation date when he checks into TSC. Whatever he hears now is not official information. Whoever gave him the grad date is on the RTC side, not the TSC side.
When they first get to TSC< they have a week or so on indoc (introduction to base and school policies, liberty phases, duty section and so on). Then they wait to get into ATT, which is like an electronics prep school. That is roughly 9 weeks. THEN they wait to class up. ET A school is 42 weeks. Actual graduation date is a moving target, because you never know how long the holds can last. After all that is a C school, although not at Great Lakes. About two years worth of training.

A couple of questions for a newbie here. My SR will be going to A school for ET (PIR 6/13) I thought the shool was 51 weeks. But he was given a graduation date in Feb. I have also seen here where some have been put on hold to wait for the class to fill. ??

No, actually I meant ET-3 to ET-2. When you read the results on Navy Times, do you look under the E-4 or E-5 heading? In other words, do they list them by what they currently rate or what they will if they pass?

After? Anything to do with electronics. Or government jobs on base, similar to what they did in the Navy.

Non Aegis FC1 - 84 out of 322 will advance

E-2? E-1 to E-2 is pretty much automatic after nine months, no exam required. If you mean E-4, then carry on!
