Kellie, they do bounce... but it all depends on where the C school is! ET C schools are all over the place. for instance, my C school was in Ft. Gordon, GA, my first duty station was Yokosuka, Japan. I also attended C schools in San Diego, Mare Island (now closed) and Atsugi.

Julie, Saori is indeed a Japanese name. Saa-o-ree for the pronunciation. Soft a, long o, and the I is a long ee. Sorry, I spent too many years in Japan, I immediately tell people how to say things, don't mind me. Japanese women are wonderful, I knew plenty of guys who married in Yokosuka. On the other hand, I never met one American female sailor who married a Japanese man. I hope you feel better soon, and hear from your son!

Charlotte - that is really sweet of you to make such a offer to the families.

Oh sure Julie...you LOST your long post...come' on girl...this is not my first rodeo!!! LOL I love ya! Saori, wow...he is really going to be too busy for us ole' moms now! Steve's uncle used to travel to Toyko a lot while we lived there and would always come to visit us, after we left to come back to the USA - he called us to say he was getting married...to the Japanese gal that did all of the transalating while he was in Japan. She is a beautiful lady - they were both in their 50s and neither had married. We knew many sailors that married Japanese gals...

Diane, enjoy your time with the boyfriend!

Spent yesterday with my favorite (only) daughter hitting the outlets in Hilton Head Island...the Island always takes me back to their younger days when we would vacation every summer with the kids. Today, we are off to Savannah to meet Jackie and some of our GA moms...another beautiful day today!

Julie, sometimes you just have to ask...if does exists - I think this might be what he is looking for. it appears he must be an E5 and needs a commander's recommendation so don't know if your sailor is just starting school but he needs to get a "few" years in ...

I have no information on ET seals - in fact that is the first I have heard of it - I'll try to dig a little deeper and see if I can find anything. Also their is a group that is called Q & A with a recruiter, you might want to ask there but the recruiter is not on the site on a daily basis so it can take a few days for an answer.

Photos for sure Millye --- I know one of our favorite ET moms will be there not sure if we will have more ETs or any FCs but heck the company will be great and the weather in Savannah is beautiful!!

Wow - take an evening off and look how busy this room gets!!!

Welcome to our four new members...Sarah, Anita, Chelsea and Krista! We look forward to hearing more about your sailors. Please read thru the threads in the discussion forums above, there is some really great info that you might enjoy or perhaps can add to - also there is one to introduce yourself so please do.

Barbara - Congratulations to your son! Please keep us posted as to what ship he goes to.

Yes Intel, the good/bad news about a site like this is - things are much more transparent.

So I will be limited on the site until Sunday as I'm going to be hitting the road for Savannah shortly, spending a couple of days with my daughter and then meeting the S. GA moms for lunch on Saturday...photos with our Jackie will be posted soon. Hope everyone has a great couple of days!

Need some help with some terms...what does CSOOW, RDC and SDC mean???I'm learning some but every now and then a different one is thrown in. This is a habit forming stop in my day but it's becoming a longer stop each time with so much to read from the different groups. I love it!!! Wish it would have been here years ago when my husband was deployed (many years ago!).

RDCs have orders for GL just like our sons and daughters do for different commands and schools. So they do move on, since our sons graduated last April CCR, I'm sure some of those RDCs may still be there for their shore duty but some may have moved on to seaduty. Just depends on their rotation and how long there have been in GL.

MM - always said to hear when a sailor is upagainst a potential discharge but...glad it's not your son.
