Hi all, Welcome to Jeannie, happy that you have joined us and WOW...#100!!!

Jackie - can you believe that John is 21 already?! Glad that you have family in the area.

Lynn, we will be with Wade in spirit tomorrow, please keep us posted.

Kellie - we are waiting for details...well not all the details but tell us how the weekend went.

Nick just called he has to go Wednesday @ 7am to check on his orders. Some sailors that have received their orders recently are being held until Dec 22 @ GL, then holiday leave and then right on to C school from leave. They have been moving them over to the Franklin once they get their orders. Said he could be finishing his class by the end of the week, his actual grad date is Dec 2nd but he's a head of the game.

Jackie, your son will be 21..awesome..Tell him Happy Birthday for me...Brandon turns 21.. Feb the 2nd...,But he will be getting ready to be deployed..I missed his 19th and 20th birthday...And now the 21st...He has 4 more years of his contract left...so I think I may miss some more...I buy those Visa gift cards..I put money on them and send them...So he can buy what ever he wants..Thats what I get him for X-mas to..After Gradutaion of boot camp..I got him a lap top..Best thing I ever did...Cause he keeps in touch with his freinds that way to..The cards also allow them to buy calling cards when there are out to see..There a must if you want a phone call...When he was deployed to South Amer..it was the only way he could call me..they cost alot on a ship for them..to make calls home..And they depend on us to help kep them strong...My sailor has come a long way but he has along way to go...My answer is alot of prayers...Tears..and smiles..when you he that voice on the other end of the phone..keep your chin up..God is Looking over there shoulder...As for the sleep, there are not getting..That does not change..sorry..My son is up for days, when he is out at sea...I think now there are getting them ready for whats to come..as sad as it seems. They can do it..and later down the road it may save there life..

SURPRISE!!! I'm sorry he's discouraged.
Patrick did have to move to the 1st floor, and says he doesn't have his online reception??? And the phones terrible. Does dad wish he could be there Monday for the appt? I can't imagine.

yep, thats a cute little bug all right. I hope Patrick gets to have Thanksgiving with someone. He loves to eat!
Says he leaves Dec 1 for San Diego Mary. He is driving. Alone. With an old used car he bought up in GL. I asked him if he figured out the route and where he'd stay the night and he said he'd just stay in some rest areas - and I'm like - oh, NO! Course, maybe it was safer 30 yrs ago.......... He's CIWS and wish someone else was leaving DEC 1 that could ride with him. Lynn, I'm hoping for Wade to be well. Sleep Apnea is nothing to fool around with. I know I almost fall asleep driving to and from work (and during, LOL!) I remember telling Brenda I was afraid who to room with, cuz I snored!!! Is he tired all day?

Get that Skype going Julie so you can tell us all how it works!! I hate that everyone can not have their sailors home for the holidays too but as you Navy know operates 365 days a year.

Do you feel like Kyle is back in bootcamp?? No communications again - ick.
It will come and go while they are deployed but just think how excited you will always been when an email surfaces or that phone rings - hang in there Julie!

Welcome Aboard!

That's how a sailor is greeted when joining a new ship or command. In fact, most receive a Welcome Aboard packet before they get to their new command.
