Julie - I opened the page and seen that baby and I was oooooooh and ahhhhhing and I didn't even know who's baby it was! What a cutie he is. Nice job on your banner!

Nick is NEVER going to graduate from A school!!! Oh, alright - it just feels like never! He called tonight but I was out, he was going back to school tonight and said...he is going next Wednesday for his orders. He thinks the orders are wiped out right now - could be true, could be rumors. His actual graduation date is Dec. 2nd.

Welcome Sharon, as Nancy explained if your son is in A school now, his rate was assigned in boot camp and he would be either an FC or ET. Based on his rate and what system he that he gets orders to in April - will determine the C school.

Where's Kellie at? Haven't seen her on for a couple of days - perhaps she started packing early for her weekend with Mickie?!!!

C schools are at a number of different bases, it all depends on 1) where he will PCS after or 2) what systems he will work on.

Mine were at Mare Island (now closed), San Diego, Atsugi, and Ft. Gordon, Ga. Hubby went to Mare Island too, and San Diego ... and those are just the ones I know about. No, we didn't go to them all at once, often the schools were part of the reenlistment package or added on by our next command during the PCS move. We were ETs, I don't know where FCs go. Dam Neck, VA possibly.

So glad that you are able to order your banners. I'm really pleased with ours and I'm sure I will get to use it...someday! I did send the company a Thank you note for their genoristy to our military members.

Helen, - it's exciting that Matt moved on to A school especially without a hold!
Karla - your son could be sitting in class with mine - he called Sunday night and said he MIGHT be looking for orders at the end of the week or early next. He's afraid they don't have any orders left to order with. Rumors, rumors!!!

Hi Ladies, some of us have been around here long enough to remember the promotion that Build-A-Sign ran that offered a FREE banner for your sailor. They provided 10,000 of them for just the cost of shipping ($10). We were lucky to get one (maybe someday I'll get to use it!!!) but I just found out in honor of Veteran's Day they are providing 20,000 banners just for the cost of shipping. This are nicely done and can be reused over and over again depending on what message you have put on them. If you would like one, I would encourage you to order them soon as they will go quickly.

Here's the info for you...
Go to www.buildasign.com/troops and order a free banner. Excellent quality, shipping charges were about $10. I believe on their website they have them priced at $65, I should our banner to a sign maker and he said locally they are charging $100 for that size banner.

Welcome karla - glad that you found us early. Although July may seem like a lifetime away...it will be here before you know it!!!

Ohhhhh - Anti M! You are going to keep us honest and teach us at the same time!!! Deck, not floors!!! LOL

Floor? LOL. Deck, ladies, it is a deck ... heeeee, I'll make salty sea dogs of you all yet!

Good to see you Kathy, we have lots of ETs in the group to answer any questions that you may have. It will be interesting to see if she moves from SCC right into ATT classes. We are hearing about holds, etc.SCC only last two weeks so please keep us posted.

What floor is she on in the Cole - it has an all male ship until recently. Our son is on the sixth floor of the Cole. He's managed to keep his room since moving their from SCC.
