Nick has been in mandatory night classes for weeks now, it has nothing to do with their grades just the fact that they have so many students to get thru the program. He had done some Saturday sessions as well.

Recaluating LynnDear is high in my vocabulary! But with all the construction on 94 it is easy to miss an exit.

CCR - Are you expecting Patrick to still be in GL for Thanksgiving??? I hope I don't need to be making last minute plans and driving up there in November can be a roll of the dice with the weather conditions - it is a 13 hour road trip from here. Last I looked at airfares they were out of control. I am HOPING that we will HAVE to go to Virginia for Thanksgiving...see someone getting settled into C school, have dinner with some Navy moms, etc.

Kellie,my husband and I paid 200 apiece for tickets for the 4/18 PIR. Then in May,they were exactly $400 apiece. From the Houston area. Millye, will you be flying or driving for Thanksgiving? I just want to give a shout out that I could share a ride and help pay the gas up there if anyone is driving. Just me, my husband found a job that he drives 4 hours a day so he probably wouldn't be interested in driving, lol.

I'm sure they will have off thurs - monday Kellie but I don't have confirmation of that. We are not making any plans for Thanksgiving as we think/hope that Nick will be done in GL by then but ...we should know soon if he is on hold, on leave or on his way to C school!

Millye, you will have a nice Thanksgiving to look forward to in just 4 weeks. I don't believe that the election will have an impact on our current sailors in school as the new fiscal year just began Oct. 1st so the budgeting is done but I do expect the outcome of this election can play heavily into the recruiting needs and where are sailors maybe stationed down the road.

LynnDear, thanks for reaching out to Nick. I have not heard from him since Thursday as he has duty so I hope that he will be calling tonight.

Helen, I think Nancy was summed it up pretty well about the FCs and their C schools. They would not have much value to the fleet as this equipment is so technical and A school does not give them training on their specific system. Unfortunately rumors live large at GL - Nick was hearing these same rumors back in April about going directly to the fleet. I can tell you for fact that the recent FC graduates are getting C school orders. For the FCs they DO split the ATT training up; doing part before A school and then completion after A school. This is being done so when they arrive at C school - the technical training is fresh.
Our son is due to complete A school tomorrow and then go wrap up ATT.

Dam Neck is so nice in the fall Marsher, it seems every sailor enjoys C school better than A. I think they earn more respect just progressing to C school.

Karla, Nick is on the Cole and we have not talked to him since Thursday. I was in another room (perhaps A school) and read that one of the ships was on lock down but do not know which one if this information is correct.

So much goes on in this group in just a day or two!

Lynn Dear is in GL this weekend visiting Wade so she may not be able to respond to you Karla until she returns but as Jackie said Wade had to have surgery and physical therapy and had his hand in a cast for quite a while and although there was a slight delay in his classes due to the surgery and recovery, he's back on track and I believe LynnDear recently said only behind by two days. She was very pleased with the medical care and surgery that he received.

Julie - sent you a note on your home page. Enjoy your days with Kyle, he will be heading off to a great home port!

Jackie, it sounds like John is doing wonder (except the cold!) Nick is doing the same job on his ship. Hoping their is NO hold before C school --- anxious to hear about orders sometime...soon.

Hey Julie, we've missed ya, good news about Kyle! Also, Jackie, I meant to tell you Cathy P. has Jonathan home since 2 days ago. She was PIR 4/18 also. She and her husband sat with Jorge and I, remember? The first night on Thursday, not the next night.
