CCR - so good to hear from you! I thought both Patrick and John was just a week ahead of Nick. He would be finishing A next week but sounds like Columbus Day is in the way. He has been hearing about 3 weeks to finish off ATT...could they be in class together? Orders to C school? Sooner or later they will catch up!!! Nick is good about touching base every few days still and was actually concerned when he couldn't reach us today. He did say he's going to call tomorrow when he gets back to base. He seems busy and stressed recently. Is Patrick talking about coming hom after GL or during the holidays? Nick has mention Christmas but I'm not counting on anything until he sees when C school begins. During my years as a Navy wife, I learned the holidays...don't always mean family time. Did you get Jorge fixed up?!!

Karla and Millye, congratus on Ryans and Claire's recent success! Karla, Patrick made 100 once I think, but be prepared. It might get rougher and some tests will be much harder than others. It even scared my son a little bit when he flunked two tests and had to take them over. He could not figure out what he did wrong.

Marsher, just a little envious, but I'm very tickled for you.
Mary, everything sounds like its going according to plan. As you know Jackie's son and mine PIR'd 4/18 and I believe Nick was the week next.
Patrick did call tonight and said TODAY he finished A school. He's done with it. Now, he also said he has 3 more weeks to go with ATT. I was glad to hear SOMETHING, ANYTHING - ! LOL. He's pulling away more, trying to wean me he says.... : - (

Saw Brenda today at her house. I went down to Beaumont with my husband to try to help him find an apt. there. Its 2 hrs away and the drive, gas etc are wearing him down. But Beaumonts only 20 minutes from her house, so we stopped by after she got off work.

Marsher and Jackie...why are you heading to Georgia...while I'm sitting at the beach??? We are at Ormand Beach = down the street from Daytona. Left Atlanta this morning at 5:30 but stopped and had lunch with our daughter near Savannah...and yes took her grocery shopping...poor starving college student! Then landed here about 6 pm - the ocean smells so wonderful!

Marsher - what are you doing in Atl? Sorry I've missed you both -Steve has taken a new position with the government and wanted to get away before it kicks in so not even sure how many days we are staying but going to enjoy it while we can.

Millye - Claire should be on cloud 9 - aceing any of these tests are not easy, congrats to her!

Marsher, how wonderful that your son is that close to be able to come home for the weekend and be able to visit his grandparents - a bonus for all!

Kellie - so many rumors thru boot camp and A school - Mickie just has to wait to see what is ahead for him. ATT has FC, ETs, GMs and ICs in the class but since it is computer driven and self-paced, each sailor is working on their own module.

Got two phone calls from our Nick tonight...he called the house a number of times and was concerned that we didn't answer so he finally tried the cell. We had to own up...we are at the beach. He was at the train station, 10 of them were heading to Chicago for the evening, he was sweet enough to call and let us know that they made it there. They are staying the night and returning tomorrow to go back to class on Saturday.

He's down to one lab and the final (yipee) but there is no school Friday or Monday so he won't finish until the following week. He does have to finish the balance of ATT and thinks it is about six weeks long but is hearing others are finishing in a matter of a few weeks. His hope is to go to Dahlgreen for the Aegis program. One of his FC friends reports to Dahlgreen on Monday.

Have my laptop with me but going to be enjoying the sun and fun for the most part. Hope everyone has a great weekend and i'll catch up to you soon.

Karla - congrats to Ryan on that 100 ! That will give him some extra confidence as the tests escalate. I think Nick is a tad disappointed as he thought he would ace everything...but found on some tests...he is just happy to say...he has passed all of his tests.

Based on his quick call last night - he thinks he will be done with A the end of next week.

No graduations from SCC. Generally it's all about A school graduation and I sat thru a few of them as my husband was an FC instructor and I would often attend the graduations but it was a very small handful of folks - the only reason why i would consider it now as I have not seen our son since April but since he has to go back to ATT - not sure if they will do the graduation and I suspect we will get very little notice ...more like a phone call saying...hey I graduate tomorrow!

Waiting to see how CCR's son does - he's a couple of weeks ahead of us.

Thanks Millye, I bet they push Claire to finish before the holidays due to the classes shutting down and then it would be SO nice for her to be home for the holidays.

I would love to go for Nick's graduation too but the way they are splitting the FC program up - do I go for the A school graduation or for the ATT graduation?!!! Heck with the price of airfare...maybe I'll just stay here!!! LOL

Hello to all, crazy busy here but we received a box today...with our Welcome Home banner! Nicely done by the sign company for those that were able to take advantage of this great offer...now if our Sailor would just come home!!!

He did call last night - sounds terribly stressed out and is down to another test or two. He has passed every test but not necessarily with the grade that he would have liked. He did say - they are trying to really push everyone along but Nick said - he wants to KNOW the subject matter when he arrives at C school - not be the first one to arrive. I like his thinking there and know soon he will be done...right?!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a long road this program is!!!

Look at the left hand rail; it just says groups and how many you are in. If you click on it, it opens up all of the groups that you are in.

Yippee Kellie - got your weekend at GL planned yet?!!!

How nice Marsher and Virginia Beach is near by so when he is not doing his homework - he can go to the beach. The weather is so nice there at this time of the year.

How long is his school Marsher?
