I think to be in for just two years and taking the E5 test is a very progressive rate. I did forget about JoAnn's Sailors (she doesn't stop by often enough!!!)

So many of these sailors are in A school and just a couple are in C school at this point.

What a great day for him to take the advancement test Nancy. I know he will do great! For everyone in this group it is TOO early for the E5 but just so us moms can be very impressed - how long has your son been in the Navy? The advancement rate for AE/CF is wonderful!

Forgive me for rambling here...but our son called last night and sounds great. He was really happy that he spent the week in the labs and enjoyed the work and he was going back to class today (Saturday) of his own choosing to STUDY so he can take a test on Monday and then return to the labs for another area of study. He NEVER studied in high school so it just thrills me to see him really focusing on his mission now.

He believes he will actually be done with A school in three weeks!!! I thought the day would never come. He will have to return to ATT for 4 - 6 weeks and will be talking with a detailer to discuss C school shortly. He will have spent about nine months at GL before he leaves and is that is alot of wintery days for my southern sailor!

He is talking about taking leave at Christmas, I was ready to break out the decorations and start baking! I know it maybe the last Christmas that we will have our children home together for a long time so I plan on treasuring every moment we can.

Hope everyone is having a safe and fabulous weekend!

Here we go again, now Hannah is up the East Coast. Lets get through it safely and then Ike and J. You know its September... Tina, I know you're gonna be visiting with your granddaughter, you lucky dog. Be well.
Good grief Jackie, what in the world?

When our son checked into his ship, they told him on the quarterdeck that he was going to have real problems as his roommate was the #1 slop of the ship but eventually he got new orders and all seems fine now.

Indoc is short and then they will go to SCC, it's a short program too only a couple of weeks but I think our son was on hold for a few days before it began - he got to paint buildings, others got to landscape or do trash detail so they may get to try their talents :-D in some of these areas before beginning SCC.

Remind me not to drive my convertible in Texas CCR!!! LOL
So glad that you made it back home Lynn, in spite of what the drive must of been like!

How nice Thanksgiving with your sailor ! I'm thinking hoping that I will be dining with mine too but not in GL!!! If Wade comes home, he has to put in a leave request which will count against his leave. If he stays there it can be considered liberty.
On the flip side, you might point out to him that he is not far from his ONE year anniversary date with the Navy which means he will have 30 days on the books. Perhaps he will use some of those for Christmas - they won't be in class at that time.

Tina, you have it right. SCC and then ATT. SCC is the only evening class that he will have although they have voluntary (chuckle) evening study sessions in ATT and A school. I chuckle because they are strongly encouraged and most of our sailors end up go to school during the day and often back in the evenings.

I live on the hwy and the grey shoulder is solid black. They get in your mouth when you go outside. YUK. Jorge is driving Patricks old white Ford Focus to Beaumont hospital to work - he comes home with the front covered in black. It will eat your paint. No lie. If you don't take care of it right away, you have to buy a special thing to get it off your car and windshield. Can you say Brillo pad?

Tina, I think all our kids think they're roommates are slobs and they are the only ones that keep the room clean. At least mine did. I heard that from others too. They get to liking one or two, and they lose them when they get their orders. I'm glad they are making friends and having a good time on week-ends.

Lynn, the way you went back, did your car get clogged with the wonderful pineywoods Love bugs?

Are you back home LynnDear?

The good news Tina is he will be able to eat dinner before going to classes and this program only last two weeks so it's not too bad on them.
