@bmom245 - I think alot of their jobs involve night rotations so they may have the classes at night to get them used to that lifestyle

They have to muster every work day and they clean or do whatever else needs done such as shoveling snow. :). They have to wait to class up just like every other class.

I don't know the reason for the delay I'm sure I'll probably never know not do I need to. Hurry up and wait...

Wow Beebee that is a long time to be on hold. Why do they go on hold and what do they do while they are on hold? I thought att school was kind of self paced?

Hello Ladies, I read the comments but am hardly ever on . My daughter has just a couple more weeks with her FC school. She says her group will move out of their current ship to another one on Base to wait for orders for C school. I don't know if it is different being an FC vs an ET. I am as anxious as she is to find out where her next stop is for her C school. What is a pain for her is after the holiday stand down her group is now in night school. They don't get done til probably 10:30 or 11:00 p . That is hard on them. The only "saving grace" is she gets to sleep a little bit later some days. They still have to be on Watch duty tho.

Hello everyone, my son is about to complete ATT school and is an FC.  I have been reading the comments of this group the whole time he has been in and would like to join.  Thanks for having me.

I was expecting tons of holds for my son (PIR 4/22/11) but he only had a few weeks at the most each time and left GL almost exactly a year later for C school. His longest wait was for orders after C school and that was not long either.

Moving Ships and rooms is pretty much guaranteed. She'll be in one ship for ATT and will most likely move to another ship when she starts A school. Same base just different rooms and buildings. Holds are also very likely. My son graduated 1/25/13 and he is still on hold to start ATT. It is also possible to be on hold waiting for orders after A school. So I agree. Expect at least a year.

ok thanks you Vickyrun.  I am glad we won't have to worry about more address changes during her time in GL once she gets to A school.

Comment by Vickyrun on February 22, 2013 at 12:23pm

Yes, they take both schools at the same place. They will both be at  the same place.   She won't have to move. All together it takes about one year. With holds it maybe longer.

My daughter will go to ATT school when she finishes boot camp then she will go to A school.  How does that work?  Does she take ATT school at the same place she will go to A school?  Is that time included in the time frame for A school (FC school is 41 weeks and ET school I think is 51 weeks is ATT school a part of that 51 or 41 weeks?)  I have heard it takes about 9 weeks to get through ATT school (is that correct?).  Will she locate somewhere for the time it takes to get through ATT school and then move to A school or will she only make one move? I know that all of her schooling up through A school will be in GL.  Sorry for all the questions but I just want to have it straight in my mind.
