I am not sure Kelly, I don't know if it matters what ship there are on. Let us know what your son finds out after his briefing.

Curious if he will get the 2.5 week version of the class and then on to A school too or if he will stay for the full ATT program.

I know we have 2 or 3 others on that ship. I'll be curious if they tell him it's 2.5 weeks as well.

No call from our son today but he had watch tonight.

Kelly - did Kyle tell you what ship he is on?

LynnDear, Nick was one that did get a hotel room this weekend with three other guys. It was his first time away from base all night since PIR and he really enjoyed just being away, they used the pool, went to the movies, the mall and I think they made it to the water park. He is not a drinker or a partier at all. He left for boot camp two days after his birthday. We had a dinner party at our local mexican restaurant for him and tried to get him to drink a margarita on his 21st birthday - no interest. His dad bought him a six pack of Japanese beer for his birthday (he was born in Japan) it is still sitting in our frid. He also lived with a friend for three months before leaving for bc and had plenty of time to party - he's just not interested in it. Hoping that doesn't change!

Millye - I know when my son got his orders it called for 10 weeks of ATT (he's an FC) but apparently with the class that he is in they just started a new formula and they are only attending the class for 2.5 weeks then moving to A school and then going back to ATT. This is supposed to help the success rate or so they hope! He is in the first class to go thru this way - he should be finishing ATT in the next day or two.

OMG LynnDear - and he is alive to tell those stories?! I am sure Kimberly would adopt him for the weekend but does he want to be adopted?!!! He maybe happy to just go out with the guys.

Nick recently asked for his camera, not sure what he is taking photos of - (he hasn't send us any) because I know the no photos on base is a very solid no, no. He did get out and about this weekend and perhaps he took some pictures at the mall?!! Heck, who knows!

I don't think they can as they won't have the software for the program and I don't believe it is web based due to security reasons.

Oh yea! We have lived for this day for a long time LynnDear! Off to A school - yahoo!!! The next chapter begins!!! I know much of what they do and locations are classified but geeeeeez Wade - most of the schools are listed right on the Navy website!!! So much for classified! Used to make me crazy when my husband would deploy for months on end and could not tell me where they were heading. I should be used to that!! So glad that he will the 4th of July off - they just need a break on a occassion. Our's had this weekend off and when he called he dad yesterday, he sounded so chilled out and relaxed. Now it's back to the last few mods of ATT and then hopefully A school for him this week too! Oh, do you know how long his A school is...or is it classified too?!!!

Welcome Heather - it's great to have another mom on board. Your daughter will be the second female ET that we have in the group. Millye's daughter is also an ET and she has gone thru indoc but not sure that she has completed SCC as of yet so she is rather new as well.

LynnDear do the ETs stay in GL for C school? The FCs have a number of different locations that they can go to depending on the systems that they are assigned to but I don't believe any of the C schools for FCs are in Great Lakes.

Julie - I would tend to agree, I would take the drought over the conditions that you have had any day...in spite of what my yard and flowers look like. We used to live on Lake Erie and every few years we would have some terrific floods and the damage that they would do to the homes was hard breaking so I feel your pain.

Sleep LynnDear - I'm always up way early and last night I made the mistake of drinking coffee while at a friends house and it really messed up my sleep. Either I need to drink decafe' or not drink coffee after noon. I don't do it often and geez it sure can mess me up! We are in the Eastern time zone here.

I thought maybe they held your son up from ATT as there was not enough computers for all of the new Sailors but heck ...who knows why. Glad that got that computer memory squared away, I know it effected a few folks recently.

Okay moms, with Kyle getting his orders to C school - thought I would start a new discussion on C schools. I have much to learn about them in the next few months!
