LynnDear - with your son moving now...did he finish 10 weeks of ATT or why does he move now? Ours moves on Tuesday but that should be first day of ATT (or so he hopes!!!) I thought once they started that class they would start in the same building until it was completed and then move again when they actually start that A school (?)

Maybe Vicki's and Kelly's sons will be together for indoc class as they are both settling into A school.

Just heard from my son - he wrapped up SCC last night but has duty today and is due to move into his NEXT home on Tuesday - he thinks ATT starts then too but it has not been confirmed.

Hi gals - I'm not going anywhere's either and maybe it will be alot more than six years!!! The systems that you mention CCR are held in a couple of locations. My son was asking about the Tomahawk yesterday and wanted to know if it was in San Diego? I love that he calls his mom and asks this stuff!!! I asked him that the system he is interested in - he said, no just curious. My son is very curious about everything but he is also very laid back and is good about just rolling with the punches.

I'm going to post some stuff about these systems, my husband look at the video that you posted Kelly and he was reliving the "days" - and it was all good so he immediately pulled up some of the different systems - good info. I want to tell you if your sons have a choice - Aegis is the system to go with. If you ask me why...I will have to get you a solid answer but trust me that my old FC called a few other FCs and it is still the system of choice if possible.

CCR - I will keep you posted but our son completes his SCC class today - so he is only one day behind your son! So maybe they will be in ATT together. However - when he called he did not know if he was heading to ATT school tomorrow or when. So he was hoping they would tell him tonight when it starts and when he can move. Nick is due to be done in November as well. I do get confused but I think one class is 10 weeks long and then the other is 20 weeks long. I just know it was a combination of 30 weeks of training and that does not count indoc and SCC program.

More soon, have a good night!

CIWS(Close In Weapon System),
RAM(Rolling Airframe Missile),
MK 86 GFCS(Gun Fire Control System), and
Tomahawk Cruise Missile

Does each one go to a different C school location?

Never take anything I say to be written in stone. I get things mixed up, or sometimes the Navy just keeps my son in the dark and as he knows, he lets me know.
So, I thought he was going into A school next. He is going into ATT school now for 3 months, then A school. Just now said he moved into a bldg next to where his night classes were. I remember where that is. They would sleep during BKFST cuz classes were till midnight the night before, right? could eat after midnight for their 3rd meal, but had to walk all the way back to the last barrack, sign up for that meal (or sign out) walk back to galley and either couldn't make it in time, or way too far. now he's moved, hope he gets to eat a 3rd meal a day. Thats probably what Nick meant about getting to the galley. And he says he does think he told me a long time ago he was going to be an ET, but now its FC. Since he said he would be in ATT for 3 months, then I am assuming A school takes 3 months since he'll have a leave in November?????????
The funny part is he moved today and said he really enjoyed moving all his "stuff". I laughed and said "I told you so".

Wow Kelly - those are startling numbers. I'm going to try to find more info on their C schools, it comes down to which system they will be working with but they really do have C schools for FCs in VA and CA. My husband trained at both - now that was a long time ago (hehehe) but last week an FC mom wrote that her son was graduating from C school in San Diego. They may train on some systems in GL though. So much to learn ladies!

Hey CCR, so glad you enjoyed your weekend. It sounds like your son maybe two days ahead of ours. As he is due to complete his class on Friday and then move into the other building for ATT on Monday. Or at least that is what he is hoping for - hasn't gotten the final word on ATT start date. He is also in that LAST building in goodness maybe there do know each other!!!

I had not heard anything about C school being moved to GL - I hope that is not the case but it will be what it is. We live in the South and the weather is brutal there with the lake effects. Our son is due to finish in November as well and I was hoping he would be heading to school in San Diego so he could enjoy the beautiful weather and area but he's a big guy now and will deal with whatever the situation is. He is so easy going, never complains. On the flipside if they do keep them there - it would be easier to visit him for us!

I think the ETs train in Pensacola (?) but I can be wrong about that - not a bad place to go to school either!!! For the FCs, it depends on which system they are training for, I understand it could be Virginia or San Diego.

Yeah Kelly, I know that phone call helped! Just knowing he is getting settled into his new home and no more bc is uplifting! He will be happy to see his classes get underway.

He will have two short classes (totally three weeks) before ATT actually begins.
