New navy mom when did he go?

Comment by New navy mom on June 19, 2017 at 10:29pm
Treysmom, I mailed my son today who is in Fit as well. I have not talked to him yet. I just told him that this was just a bump in the road and it would make him stronger. I also printed off some quote I found online for encouragement.

Hi all, I got a letter from my son finally after a failed PFA call.  He is in the 2444 flight. All his letters up to now had been concern for passing the run, said he couldn't keep up.  Any suggestions on best was to boost his confidence.  He just sounds so depressed and down.

@ New Navy Mom....I am so sorry you received that call.  It’s terrible I know.  It took my son 8 tries to pass the run and it’s never spoken of now.  He’s in A school and excelling.  Your Sailor will do it!  I use to envision guys lurking over him just continually screaming at him.  Let me reassure you that is not happening. They want your son to pass and they will do everything in their power to help. My son said they were very encouraging.  And as far as leaving before receiving a call….that I’m not sure about.  The only thing I can say is if you leave and haven’t received a call at all Wednesday …turn around. They test on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  You never know when they’ll call anymore you just sit and wait. The waiting on a parent’s end is sheer torture. I’m praying for you and your son.

Just got the dreaded call my son failed the sit up part of his pt test. He said he had til Wednesday. We are supposed to be leaving Wednesday morning. I don't know what we should do if we should cancel or still head out. How will we know if he passed? Please pray we make the right decision and he passes this please. He was crying when he called home it broke my heart.

Lemonelephant, thank you so much for the information. I really appreciate the help.

Samantha, yes, the address in Battle Stations-21 (BST) is correct. Use Ship 4 and if you know the division number based on the run or swim, then use it; if not, then use Ship 04 FIT DIV--Female.

I havent heard any thing yet so inwant to send her a letter. Is the address of the battlestations page correct? Also am i supposed to put the ship/div# or ship/fit div-female?

It's so hard to get that call but stay strong lady's and be supportive to your kids, I had the same call almost 2 weeks ago and she still in FIT, now I just talk to her and she's at the hospital she said her iron is so low and she sound awful she just homesick and disappointed on her self, it hurts me so much to hear my daughter talk like that but all I did is listen and be supportive she said it was nice talking to each other and to hear I am with her 100% on whatever she wants to do. She's not giving up she said she will keep trying. So don't give up on your kid stay positive I know is a hard road but we can do it, I'll say a prayer for all the moms and kids going through this difficult time.

Samantha, no, she will not call after the PFA if she fails. Calls are totally up to FIT personnel and when the phone banks are available. Some are able to call after passing the PFA and some have not called until after Battle Stations-21 (BST). Some who have passed the PFA and are on the waiting list for the BST have called on Sunday afternoon. Some recruits who have been in FIT at least two weeks without passing have been able to call on Sunday afternoon at times.
