Navynrocks,

RCU is the Recruit Care Unit.  If he is there he will get the rest he needs to recover.  I understand they get to call Saturday and/or Sunday when they are in RCU, so you probably will get that call!

Proudsistah- I am praying for your sister. My daughter is back at bootcamp and will see the Navy dentist on Monday and her surgeon on Tuesday. I am praying she gets a release from them so she can begin working out to get strong enough to finish. I hope they tell her to go get strong and kick butt. I woke up this morning only to realize there were so many things I should have said to my daughter but didnt think of it while she was here. I went to reach for my cell phone to send her a text but then I figured that her phone was probably taken as soon as she got onto Great Lakes. I will have to write it down to remember to tell her when she calls on Monday. Send me a private email ( with your sisters name) and I will ask her to check on her. My daughter will also get to call me on Tuesday.

Yeah i was told about that "no news is good news" but it's really scary sometimes! I am hoping that she is not in separation... She already has 'what ifs' question the last time we spoke!
Thank u all for ur prayers... Will keep u posted!

I haven't had any mail yet from my girl, so I don't know really how she is feeling.  She was clearly choked up when she called me and told me she had not passed the PFA.  I know that not going through PIR with her division is a big disappointment, but I have assured her that that is not what is really important here.  Thanks for your prayers, I will pray for your sister and all in FIT.

Hi mom ruth! Thank you... How is your daughter doing? I know exactly how u feel about PIR! My sister cried her heart out after she broke her leg,.. The fact that she wont graduate with her division really hurt her more than her leg... I still remember that all she was saying "i was there... I was at the finish line" that's a week before her graduation! The recovery process (emotionally) was really hard for her and for our family!
Will be praying for ur daughter!

Sandy sailor son,

Thanks.  I think that is probably what I need to say in today's letter to my girl.  I know she can do this, and I just can't stand the idea of her coming home.  She has very few options here.

Proudsistah, I am very impressed by your sister's determination.  To be in boot camp for so long and still be willing to tough it out.  I hope you will let us all know when that "I'm a sailor" call comes in to your family.
