That's pretty much what I figured as well. We were going to drive up, but his aunt is flying in. I read they wouldn't get a replacement PIR. What happens with his pictures? They took them a few weeks ago.

No, he was suppose to start battlestations tomorrow night, his PIR is/was 11/5. His script said not to come as he wouldn't be able to see us. Is there still a chance he could finish everything and PIR on time?

Teri, thanks. He called again with the script he had to read. Seemed a little overkill since he said basically the same thing before, but I understand they have their way. So, what happens now. He just needs to pass his run, but is down by 2 minutes.

Hi folks, just got a call from my son. Apparently, he is heading over to the FIT section, not sure what it's really called because he can't make his run. Aargh, I was worried this would happen.

I spoke with her at length yesterday. She called from the Special Physical Unit at the hospital to explain what was going on with her Iron. She has time to get the run completed because she has to wait on a waiver. For her job she has to free from all physical ailments and the low iron requires a waiver. She had no idea how long that would take. Thanks for the kind words and thoughts, I can use them right now!

Hey, she just called. She missed the run by 15 seconds. She had to call to let us know she didn't pass. She also told me that she has gone to the medical unit every week for blood work because her Iron is low. They gave her iron pills last week. When she went in she said her iron was 34 and recently it dropped to 31. Well no wonder she is having problems with the run. She said she would call from Internal Medicine next week and explain everything. She said they can discharge her if her iron drops to low. Something else to worry about. She sounded great.
Vickie, she was set to PIR 9/2. Thank you so much for talking with me. You don't know how much I appreciate it!

Thank you so much for understanding! I just can't stop crying, I don't know where she is or what she is doing. The funny thing is when she called she said that wasn't the official call. After the run the chief made her pack her seabags and everyone was just staring at her, I'm sure they didn't know what to say, anyway some how she ended up in the bathroom crying and someone was in there who felt sorry for her and gave her a cell phone and told her to call home. That was Monday and I don't know what to do. Do I still send mail to her address or do I wait? I'm in the dark and don't know what to do.

Hi, I was beginning to worry. Well my daughter was sent to FIT this week. Out of eighty girls she was the oly one who did not pass the run. I was doing okay until I read the previous posts and saw all the kids who did not make the run BUT they were 4 seconds and 15 or 20 seconds off.....hummm, my child, bless her heart is over 2 minutes off the mark, she is not a runner or exerciser for that part. I do not have any reason to peruse the other groups any longer and was really just feeling bad beacuse she was so devastated when she called!

Sad news for me -- my son is being separated. He said the dr said he has degenerative disks and arthritis in his spine. It's surprising since he never had any problems with his back before BC and passed the initial PFAs just fine. I am probably more disappointed than he is. He just wants to get out of pain. So now he is in Ship 5.
