Hi Navmom,

We lifted all of the sailors in prayer tonight in my prayer group. We said a special prayer for your son. My granddaughter did pass. The advice I gave her was to eat right...eat bananas, drink plenty of water, orange juice, Powerade or Gatorade. She said she was having cramps so the potassium in those foods help with cramps.

I know the feeling you are having. I was there a few days before her PIR. Praying for your peace and his too. Just try to reassure him. My granddaughter was told that she would have to have a 24 hour wait in between trying the run again. so maybe that's what he has to wait for. We bombarded heaven on his behalf.

Praying that he will get some peace, concentrate, eat right and run, Forest, run. Tell him to keep going. She said her legs were burning but she would not stop.

I'm looking forward to hearing a good report. Sending love your way.

Hello again, if anyone is reading this, my son failed running again, and has been asmod 3 weeks.
His timing must have been worse since he was not allowed to keep trying.
He was devastated, and so am I, if anyone is reading this pls tell me what to expect, I am hurting for him.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the group. My son failed his run by 17 seconds, I'm hoping he can shave that off since his PIR is 9/15. How difficult is 17 second? He needs to pass before he can move on to BS. I'm a nervous wreck.

Prayers to all SR who need to pass PFA.

Still waiting. Trying to determine how long they have to wait to retest. My SR just has the run and only due to 4 pushups.

I got a call from my recruit today (timed at 30 seconds) that he could not re-test the run due to a problem with the track.  That means they will run tomorrow and may do battle stations all night but at best now, those who needed to pass run can only sit in the balcony.  So sad but I hope still this happens because I will hop on a last minute flight and go see him.  I feel he needs support now more than ever.

My SR is now in FIT and missed the PFA by 4 push ups. I want to write yet at the same time know he is retesting tomorrow.  I know he will pass, he was so upset with himself for not getting in the last 4 push ups. Hoping he makes it tomorrow.

GranmaFaye, Amen.

Lemonelephant,

Thanks for all you do. I'm believing that she will pass. Not by her might or power but the Spirit of the Lord.

Joedad,

that is wonderful news. I said I never understood the depth of the effects on the families of the enlisted and recruits. something is being worked out in us as well. Glad for you and your recruit. I love this site.

GranmaFaye, she is currently in FIT. If she passes the PFA on Monday or Wednesday, then she may be able to have BST and then have PIR with her division.
Comment by GranmaFaye on August 18, 2017 at 9:20pm

Just reading some of the posts. I got the call today that my granddaughter recruit failed PFA. However, she was able to tell me that if she passes by Wednesday, she will still PIR next Friday. I have read some situations on here that are exactly the same as mine. What was vague to me is the recording said she was being moved to another division but then if she is able to pass by Wednesday, she can PIR. We live in North Carolina and had planned to drive to Great Lakes, plus we have reservations for hotel and car.  I know there is still hope but if later is going to work for her, then that's what I want.
