I heard from Kierstin this morning.  She had one final try to pass her run but before that happened, she found out she has a stress fracture in her right leg and is being sent to medical (RCU) to heal.  Sadly, this will add another 8 to 12 WEEKS to her ordeal.  Kierstin is upset, as you could well imagine.   She's lost her motivation, wants to throw in the towel and come home but she said she'll keep going.

Hey glad you had a good camping trip. We went up to see my son on Sunday but in route he called and said he had watch duty all day. So we didn't get to see him on Sunday. He believes that he will get his orders on Wednesday and leave soon afterwards but we don't know yet. I hope you hear from your daughter soon. Please let me know

Paula,  That's great!  We just got back from camping 3 hours ago.  She didn't call her grandparents and no messages on my cell or home from her either.  Got the mail and had 5 letters from her!!!  I guess there was a TTO (Training Time Out) during one of her runs so she said today would be her last try.  But do they run on holidays??    We'll just wait and see, I suppose!  Hope you had a good weekend.  Camping was great, only rained last night and this morning.

Wow, didn't realize they'd call that late.  Normally by 4 pm EST, I've thought it's over for the day.  Hoping for a call tomorrow.  Although we leave at noon here on the west coast to go camping and will be out of cell phone reach.  She's supposed to call her grandparents.  If tomorrow is it, I'm thinking she'd call either way to update us on her status... pass or separated.  Nerve wrecking!!  Let us know when you get the "I'm a sailor" call.  Want to celebrate with you!!!
