Just a quick reminder that SRs have to move to Ship 5 THU after Battle Stations so it may take awhile to get the Sailor call. Mine came around 4:30/5 CST after much staring at the phone willing it to ring. Also keep an eye on Facebook because many of them get online the first second they can.

I got my call last night!!  Thank God she passed her run and had 15 secs to spare!  We are on our way!!  From what my daughter said there was a line of recruits waiting to make calls to their parents so it sounds like yesterday was very successful.  ;-))  I'm counting on the "I'm a Sailor" call tomorrow.  ;-))

okay so a reputable Navy mom source, a friend of mine, whose son had PIR last Friday said that a couple of the parents who showed up for PIR and whose sons were, unknowingly to them, placed in the fit division - were told that they would only get a phone call if their SRs passed the run. And they also added that for the past week, NO ONE  has completed a run due to timeouts being called every time. these time outs are presumably being called by the division that the fit group is running with (new recruits) and not our SRs.

Take that bit of information however you choose. To me it was awesome news. It means that my son is not failing, and not giving up or quitting, he just hasn't been able to finish a run.I very pleased to hear that, although I know it must be extremely frustrating for him.I tell you what, I am going to hug that boy so hard the next time I see him, he may just start to suffocate, lol.

Hi Laura*Ship 13*Div 102. I understand the feeling of losing your mind. Keep the faith and stay positive. I got the 'dreaded' call as well 4 days ago, and my son was seconds short also. We are in this together! Today is Sunday and I'm hoping for a phone call today but it sounds like he'll be busy that I wont hear from him for a while, ya think? I did write him on graduation day. I'm told the (encouragement card) mail will be forwarded to him. Hang in there Laura

I wish I could say it was easier Laura*Ship, but it's been 2 weeks since I was able to speak to my daughter. I will say that her times are improving and she was staying positive about graduating. It's going to be up to you and your son to keep spirits high and not lose hope. FIT is tough. Think of it as another level of weeding out and when they pop out on the other side they will be stronger and better prepared for the next step. It just stinks while they're there and really stinks about graduation. Thank God there are other graduations during they're rise. I'm right with you so feel free to vent here and encourage in your letters.
