No more pollywogs in our house! Nick called this morning and they have crossed the equator so he is officially a Shellback now! It's a very memorable moment for a sailor.

For those of you that get the Military Channel on Direct TV, they are re-running a series called "At Sea" it will be airing on the 19th and one of the shows is Surface Warfare and the other is Submarine Warfare. They were produced in 2009 and will give you a great chance to see what our fleet can do when at sea.

Jean----- the USS Boxer is on this special :-)

katanta - good to see you. Sorry that you missed our most recent gathering - we had some GW moms there that you would have enjoyed meeting and we definitely have families in your immediate area --- and will get together soon.

Quentin's mom ---- how nice to see your son again! They posted a photo of my son on the ship's facebook page and I was over the top! I have not seen him in nine months and no photos since May - so it doesn't take much to make me happy now!!!

Good to see you Jean!

Silvia and all current and recent boot camp grads ---- RTC has a facebook page and they have lots of graduation photos posted by week that you might want to check out if you are on facebook.

Hope everyone is having a great day - I'm happy to see signs of rain here!

Silva,
I am so happy for you!!! Just saw my son this past weekend and was overcome with emotion too. Didn't you feel so proud and happy that you thought you would explode?!

Hi ladies, We just back from Chicago and we had a good time with Gabe. Was a very emotional moment when they call his Div. and my Gabe was walking with one of the flags....I'm so proud of him. Was very hard for us and him "say see you soon" I was crying for 3 hours. I got good pics so I will post tonight.

Welcome Jennifer!

We have a few MA families in this group that maybe able to tell you more about the specific rate. We had a lunch recently and the MA families that attended had sailors stationed in Guam, Spain and Bahrain so often they get stationed in some pretty awesome commands.

As far as going in earlier ---- if an opening for boot camp + A school becomes available for an MA, the recruiter will call your son and say...are you ready to go? Often this happens if someone doesn't take that final oath and report to boot camp or gets dismissed from boot camp for some reason. Stick with us and you will understand...everything!! lol
