Aww Dona, what a sweet photo. I know you hate to say goodbye to them. So sorry I've been MIA lately. Our daughter moved up to Watertown, NY to join her husband - he returned from Iraq on Sunday. Praise the Lord!

I'm stopping by today to say................It's TIME! For another gathering --- look at the right hand side of the screen under EVENTs for Georgia Navy Families, next lunch is Scheduled for July 31st. It's a Saturday and it will be held at J.Christophers (promise I don't have stock in them!!) but we will be taking advantage of that private room that have. This lunch will be in John's Creek/Duluth - please go to the events to see all the details and their is a link to their website for directions and the menu. Please take a moment to RSVP so we can provide the restaurant with a head count. Families are welcome to attend.

Look forward to seeing everyone soon!!

Hello, everyone. Mary, congratulations on 25 years!
Donna, I am sure that was a beautiful wedding-thanks for sharing your pictures with us!
We had our Seabee son, his wife, and our newest granddaughter-7 months old the week before the 4th.This was his first leave since graduating BC. He recently made 3rd class P.O. It was so hard to see them leave to go back to CA-especially taking the grandbaby!

Good Saturday afternoon to everyone!! It is hard to believe that just three short months ago my son was in bootcamp. He is now in A School at Great Lakes to become a Corpsman, has scored at 94, 81 and a 90 on his first three test. We skyped last night for nearly two hours. We miss him so much, but he really is enjoying this life he chose. One of the changes that I notice more and more is how blunt he has become!! I've been known to say it like it is also, but he has totally embraced it!! I sure hope this is normal. He swears his Chief in bootcamp told him that if someone is doing something wrong, then they needed to hear about it!! So funny. Anyway, I just wanted to check in. I still love this site and spend a lot of time on the Corpsman site learning all I can.

Hamptonsmom-ship14div274: congratulations on hearing from your son, it's always special when you connect directly with them. I was jumping for joy when my son first called me a couple weeks ago during his first [mini] cruise. I've been spoiled in getting in touch with home at almost anytime. Going a whole week was tough the first time! His first big cruise [8+ months] will be next February. I hope you get another call soon!

My son called us last night. Got to talk to him for over 10 minutes. It was sure joy hearing his voice. Says he is doing ok. Had his wisdom teeth out on the 9th and still hurting a little bit. Sounded real good. He says he misses home. It was wonderful hearing from him.
