DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

DianeSR....r, I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your last name; you also need to change the URL to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes change to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)

Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with you or your loved one.

hopefully Jim and his wife Kate will be moved in by Thanksgiving. As you well know ,the Navy doesn't do anything by our schedule. When we know a definate date, I will let you know-it would be nice if everyone could get together. My husband and I will not be going out to Oak Harbor till the spring of next year. maybe sometime if we all are in the same place at the same time we can get together.

Diane we definately need to keep in touch-My son Jim will be there with his wife around Oct(you know how the Navy works with dates!) His house is in Oak Harbor, and my husband has said he wouldn't mind retiring there. We will probably be going out there late Spring or early summer of next year. Jim is going to try to come home for the holidays with his wife as they haven't been home in a year and a half! We promised to visit them next year , so if you go out there we can get together. They will be there for 2 or 3 years I guess.,so at some point ,we might be there at the same time! Keep in touch

Hi Diane my son will be returning to NAS Whidbey, probably in Oct.He will be involved in the Tactics school and the new Growler. He was stationed there a few years ago, and has a house in Oak Harbor. What a beautiful place it is and very different from Long Island where we are from!

You're welcome and thank you I am very proud of PJ. Having started in 9th grade working toward his goal, it certainly sounds like Paul has known for a long while what he wanted to do!! Good for him. Which college did Paul attend? My son wants to become a pilot, currently he's a high school senior. Thank you Diane for sharing with me. Sherry
