sailordawgmom - I heard the news about the layoffs from a mom attending a HHS soccer game a few weeks back. She had been one of the ones laid off, too. You are so lucky to find something. I'm still looking for work. My husband and I are driving to Boston (in PA tonight) to see Lauren who's not coming home during her summer break. Wish us lots of luck as well ... Chris leaves Friday to do carrier quals out of Norfolk! Me might get to see him on our trek home!!!!

Best to all you Georgia Moms. Happy Memorial weekend.

Wade 142, I will be praying for you a quick recovery, but you make sure you do get plenty of rest. Often I think they send you home too fast. The Job is not to be your #1 worry right now... so dismiss it from your mind and just do what you need to do for yourself. Remember God will be with you through every procedure and operation. You know we are all pulling for you too...

Hi ladies, I step away for a day or two and so much happens around here.

Wade142, our prayers will be with you as you prepare for surgery and a positive recovery.

Seabee Mom Wanda -- so happy that Josh is doing well, although it may not seem like it August is just around the corner! My Seabee nephew is due to report to A'stan in August. We are still waiting for news on our SIL's return from Iraq, he has been extended and yesterday it sounded like he was extended...again. Hoping that soldier gets home soon so he can enjoy the pregancy with his wife.

Sailordawgmom...laid off and working so quickly?! Good for you! How many in Cobb Co. got laid off? I've missed the news the last few days.

Please keep your fingers crossed for our son, he will be interviewing with the board tomorrow as well as with his CO for the Seaman to Admiral program.

That Chaplain in Iraq-just brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing moment that would be.

Oh it really touched me with both these wonderful stories. Our Soldiers we are very proud of in Iraq and around the work.... And that Nick.... he is one jewel. I am very proud of him and know that he was raised well and he is making sure that he does what he should do, beyond what is expected. Congratulations Mary, you did a good job.

Wade142. thank you for sharing the Chaplain's story. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, soldiers!

Mary, Proud Mom of Nik, I know you must be beaming with pride on this recognition. Go Nick, Go Navy!

Just have to brag! I got the nicest email from Nick's CO yesterday and today on the ship's facebook page they posted a bunch of photos of him and this story...
While underway we honor the hardest working junior Sailor each week with the Sea Warrior of the Week award. One lucky Sailor gets 2-day special liberty, a nights stay in the CO’s at sea cabin, a Sea Warrior of the Week pin, head of line privileges for one week, pick of the movie for Saturday night and the coveted $10 MWR bucks.

I'm in tears, have not seen him since November. thanks for listening ladies.
