I've been looking at the BlueStar Mothers organization and they do have two chapters in GA. One in Houston County and the other one is in Dunwoody. I'd like to learn more about their focus and I am looking at attending their May meeting being held in West Cobb if anyone would like to join me. There are the details about the next meeting...

We do have an active group in the Atlanta area. We just had our monthly members' meeting yesterday. We've been meeting the fourth Saturday of each month in Dunwoody. However, we're going to try something new starting next month in hopes of better reaching our members and hold our meetings in different locations around the metro Atlanta area.

We would love to have you join us May 22nd at Due West United Methodist Church (http://www.duewest.org/pages/Come/Directions/) 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

I'm going to put it in "EVENTs"

Good morning ladies, welcome to our new members!

The only planned event that we have on the calendar right now is...June 25th in Macon but I have not heard much about that recently so perhaps we can get an update.

It might be nice to have a picnic/potluck soon. Something casual that we can take all the time we want to visit with each other.

Tim McGraw is playing at GA Southern University this weekend, my daughter is very excited.

Wade142 - Congratulations on your new grandson. Welcome, little Hunter! As I mentioned earlier I have a Hunter, too. Best of luck to all the family.

Thanks again. I only sent a couple Braves' articles to him along with a letter, so it wasn't a package. I've seen the hints about no notes or perfume or musical cards. He'll let me know if it gets him some extrea push-ups, that I'm sure!

Just no packages of any sort in boot camp GoDogs and I never wrote notes on the outside of the envelope. The real trick is do NOTHING to draw attention to your son via his mail or anything else.

Thanks Mary. My husband went through Army basic 23 years ago and was a little worried because they were never allowed to get that stuff. I didn't want to add a couple more push-ups!

Hey GADogs85...I always sent articles for newspaper, magazines, on line, etc. for our son in boot camp. Don't put too many in one letter but I almost always sent an article or cartoons in every letter I mailed to our son. Never a problem.
