Mary ... LOL ... YES! I agree with you ... the only one it's meaningful is to me. And YES, my mother-in-law continues to pass on family things she thinks we would like. My fault is that I don't want to hurt her feelings and so I take them and then wonder, "What am I going to do with this?" and add it to my pile of stuff. LOL will it ever end? Thanks for sharing!

Diane, we put our house up for sale last fall and had to deal with ALL that stuff and quickly found that everything I had been keeping for our kids --- was only meaningful to me! Reminded me of my mother in law, everytime we go home to visit the family, she is still pulling things out of the basement for my hubby!

Thanks, Mary. It is a blessing. But, I'm asking myself (as I'm sure many of you have already done so), Where did I get all this stuff? Do I really need it? So, the painful part is deciding what to part with. Especially Chris' stuff, much of which his wife doesn't want! But, I shall persevere!

Happy day to all!

Good morning all - I see the sun shining!!

Diane, I feel your pain...can't imagine having to clear out the basement but the price will be worth it to have the family close.

Hello Georgian Moms, It's been a while since my last post. Busy, settling my daughter, her husband, and son into our house basement apartment. So, I'm busy figuring out what to do with over 30 year's accumulation that now is spread throughout the rest of the house. But, it is great having them so close. Also just got back from a long trip to Boston ...visiting our daughter in college there and my husband's family and celebrating his mother's 86th birthday. sailordawg ... you need to tell me about the luncheon. The picture posted below looks like you had a great time. Wish I could have been there. Son Chris is now in San Diego and will be going out to the carrier midweek to do his qualifications. Holding my breath on this till I hear from him that it's over.
Best to all of you!

My Grandson graduated Friday at Great Lakes.. we left Georgia on Wednesday, starfed off with rain leaving Georgia..by the time we got to Tennessee it was beautiful weather all the way up. on Thursday we checked where we would go at the base etc, went to the jelly Belly factory and took a free tour, then on to Chicago and went to the old sears tower (they have changed names now. Took lots of pictures had dinner in Chicago, then the graduation on Friday morning. Got there at 6:30pm no rain, They immediately checked everyone in and we had a wait of course, but in the process we saw our sailor. He walked across right in front of us and went to the bathroom 15 ft from where we were sitting. Of course he could not even look our way. I took pictures of him coming out of the bathroom as he walked all the way back around the auditorium to where the door was to the band room. But it was so exciting. He was the band director and marched in front of them leading them. Then after they called Liberty, he went to his ship, got his pictures he had already purchased and went with us.. Red Lobster was his suggestion. Then came to the motel room to just visit... then we all went back to the xex or what ever they call it.. The boys played some games and pool and by then all the sailors were returning from their time away and my grandson had several to walk back to their ships with him...Today the Chicago Aquirium, and enjoyed dinner at UNO, had the original deep pan Pizza... it was very expensive though. By the way service people get in the regular Aquarium free but to see the shows they have a discount price for them. Seniors get $3.00 off the regular ticket but then probably extra for the shows... I really don't know all about the price for my grandson treated me. He put me in a wheel chair so I would not have to walk so much and rolled me all over the place... wow, such great treatment. I love my grandchildren... My daughter just left the motel room to take him back to the base... We will pick him up again tomorrow and I dread leaving him here when we head back to Georgia... I could not sleep last night for just thinking about how far he would be away from us all... He is leaving early Tuesday morning for San Diego... long way from Georgia...

Wade142 = it sounds like you had a wonderful time in PC beach. Just treasure what days you can get with your daughter.

Possibility that I maybe going to Statesboro/Savannah in April but I don't know the date yet. Just found out Tim McGraw is going to be playing at GA Southern University!!! That is quite the coo for GA Southern and I just happen to have a connection there :-0 so I may go down for a couple of days, enjoy my daughter and the concert and perhaps can do lunch with anyone in the Statesboro/Savannah areas. We did a nice lunch last March in Savannah, it was a wonderful day and then it SNOWED all the way back to Marietta!
