Hey Jean! Good to see you, has it really been 2.5 years already?!!! Your son is on a six year agreement...right? It won't be long before Nick hits his 2nd anniversary...yikes!

Look at all this King's Bay knowledge! It's so good to have a group like this that we can ask a question and someone always is ready to help!

King's Bay is sitting so close to Florida - it might as well have a Florida address! I used to have a client in Kingland, GA and would pass the base entrance. I believe it was literally six miles to the Florida state line from there.

Congratulations Wade142! Happy to say that the emotions of PIR day stays with you for a long time, possible forever!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!

Alli ... congrats to Gavin! But in my book, a wait till assignment/deployment is good. I'm ecstatic that my son's carrier and quals were delayed from Sept to Dec with deployment now early next year rather than Oct. I know he's trained for it, but as a mom ... every delay keeps him safe at home yet.

Yea! Great news about Gavin - we know you are smiling big today Alli!

How cold can it go?!!! This morning they said it was 23 degrees lower than normal, we decided to work in the yard and geez the temperture just seems to keep dropping out there. Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend.

Okay...we caved ...furnace is on!

JoMo...two weeks from now, you'll have a sailor...are your bags packed??!!! Your new son will not be able to come home before reporting to PCola - even if he checks in five days early. Often when they check in, they will be given liberty that weekend but will be on the 'buddy system" and have to report back to the base each night. For those that stay in GL for A school, some but not all are allowed overnight liberty PIR weekend IF there families are in town but I believe in PCola - he will have to be back each evening until he phases up.

Out of area chit - is a leave request to be further away from the base than normal liberty allows. For example - in GL once they phase up and have overnight liberty they can go up to 250 miles away from the base without putting in a chit/leave request. I don't know what the mileage is in PCola. Generally they don't let sailors take leave until after A school but with the long holds at some of the schools - I know sailors that have been authorized some leave time.

Hi ladies - hope all is well on this gloomy rainy day. Irene, I need to go check out Heather's album - I know you did a great job with it!

Danielle-B's mom: Watching the Auburn and Boston College games on Saturday with both losing badly, we turned to the TN game to cheer them on to "beat those dawgs!" (LOL-again, our son went to Auburn) At least the Falcons put in an acceptable showing against the 49er's!
