Ok Navy moms-I have downloaded the pictures from the meet/greet for Aug.22,09. I haven't finished labeling yet. but it's getting late, so I will work on that. We are having a great time with Heather being home. I still need to download some other pictures of her arriving-I know one thing, I will have alot of pictures to scrapbook. I have taken pictures of everything that we have done and people that have come around.I hope ya'll enjoy the pictures.

To all my GA Friends ... we are currently at a hotel in Hazelton, PA working our way to Boston to bring our daughter to college. The summer was fun, but we're now again empty nesters. So happy for you and to hear about all the graduations, kids home, etc. Have a great week!

Diane, it sounds like you will have a very treasured Thanksgiving with your children this year and that is GOOD news! Ups and downs come with military life and some days they are easier than others but generally it's more up...than down :-)

Raining good here now...hoping hubby's plan will get in okay.

Good morning friends. My heart and thoughts are with all of you in your struggles and your triumphs this past week. We just heard from our son last night. He was supposed to do carrier quals this Sept and be deployed in October. They have now delayed that to quals in Dec. and deployment probably Jan. While for us that is good news, I hate this up and down in emotions and getting ready, then not getting ready. But the really good side of this is that he's invited us up for Thanksgiving. Paul and I made our reservations last night. We also made reservations for our daughter, her husband and son to go as well. Our daughter hasn't seen her brother in almost 2 years. We are really looking forward to this since we will probably not be able to make it out to see him deployed. Best wishes to all. Have a sunny day despite the rain!

Welcome to our newest members... we are now at 170 !!!

Thanks all for your well wishes, yesterday was a tad difficult which maybe absolutely silly to some since Nick's command is in Hawaii and we all know sailors serving in some very challenging areas.

We did get the Aloha call last night, after 12.5 hours he made it. He was still in baggage claim and it was very noisy and someone from the ship was there to greet him so his adventure has begun - I'm sure he will be fine.

Quite the storm by us last night and I think another one this afternoon. Steve is flying into Atlanta later today --- hope the storm doesn't get too out of control.

Have a great day - any PIRs this week?

Alli - I am so sorry and know that you must be concerned. If we can help in any way holler at us or feel free to call me if a shoulder would help.

Irene - been thinking of you and Heather but didn't want to get in the way of her leave. When you download the photos would you send a note to Elle, they are anxious to see the picnic.

Good morning ladies! Wanda, we are counting down the days with you.

Missy, I wish I had this site when hubby was a sailor but wait...that was back in the OLD days before email/internet/cell phones, etc. Sites like this are so valuable to the families, glad that we have it for support and friendships.

Wishing you and Sylvester a wonderful trip to SA - another proud moment is awaiting you!!!

I don't like today ladies. Drove Nick to the airport this morning at six am, he is reporting to his first ship tonight in Hawaii. Thought I was ready for this day, didn't cry when he went to boot camp, or A school or C school but today...just knowing he has orders so far away for the next three years...I'm sad and I know many of our sailors are much further away and in areas that we prefer they not to be so my apologies to anyone if I am being unsensitive to your challenges.
