My nephew is so sorry he did not go enlisted, especially with the job market being so bad now. He gets to return in April for his two week duty - he's looking forward to it.

Wanda, is Josh a reservist? My nephew graduated from Gulfport last summer and I was able to go spend a weekend in Gulfport. It was wonderful and he loved it there!

Susan, I hate this question as it has truly scared some moms off the site. I was one of the original members of the group when it started a year ago. There was such a small handful of moms on here, we were learning and sharing everyday together. It was EASY for an RDC to come on the site and figure out who's mom belong to which recruit. This is when the site had less than 50 members, today we have over 12,000 members - not so easy to pin point moms to recruit.

With that being said, you never want to use your recruit's last name for many reasons. You never want to say anything that would embarass your recruit. You would never want to say boy - just got a letter from my son and he said RDC _________ is an idiot!!! Just use common sense and know those RDCs are busy and are working hard on making your son a great sailor!

For the few recruits that the RDCs could identify back then - they were generally looking for items to mess with them such as...your nickname is _______? Nothing serious ever came out of it but anytime you are on a public site, anyone can access it. I suggest that our RDCs are busy making sailors out of our recruits.

Happy Valentine's to all of you! I'm RSVPing that I will not be able to make the Savannah meeting. That is the date we are flying to see our son at Whidbey Island (WA) NAS!! We haven't seen him and his wife since the middle of July last year. Yeah!

Congratulations Wanda to you and your NEW Sailor! We look forward to hearing about another great PIR weekend...I suspect it is a long weekend for the new sailors (?)

Irene is going to try to join us on the 28th as well and she is one organized lady! She brought her scrapbooks to the first luncheon - gave me some motivation to get mine organized!

Hi all - where are our Southern Moms? Don't forget to RSVP for the gathering on the 28th. I'm 90% sure that I will be driving down and look forward to meeting everyone.

Just heard from one of the Jacksonville, FL moms - some of those moms are thinking about driving over to join the gathering. I'll encourage them to RSVP if they are planning on attending.

Barbara J. Never, ever give up hope! My prayers are with you that his mom will reach back out to you for the sake of the child. On the EA6B...can you believe that it also lands on an aircraft carrier?! They will be decommissioned soon and replace (much to Chris' delight) by a modified F-18. And to you and all moms ... happy thoughts and a happy day.
