Mary, this is great new that your son will be back in the USA. That is a long time to be gone. Big {{{NMH}}} to your son when he returns. Are you going to be there when his ship pulls in?

There will be a could more opportunities to help with the packing of the boxes for our military. The goal is 1000 stockings that will need packing starting on Nov 22 which will prepare for the Big Stocking Packing Day on Nov 23. If anyone is interested in helping with this let me know and I will give you the location in Lilburn. It is huge undertaking to say the least! If anyone is interested in donating any of the items needed for the stockings, let me know that and I will post the list. Have a great day NM's!

Hi all, love that we have multiple opportunities to support our deployed. Have to say our deployed son will soon be back in the USA - he has been gone 296 days now, letters and packages from well meaning groups like yours really brighten the long days for them so thank you!

I would love yo join you on the 16th but we are heading out tomorrow to welcome our sailor home and then take a much needed vacation and we won't return until the 17th.

Happy packing and thank you!

JerseySusan, I sure do! We attend the same church and I have been getting involved with the group. On Nov 16th  we will be meeting to start getting boxes ready to ship later in the month I think. If this is stepping on your toes, I will remove the post. Not a problem. Please let me know. Small world, huh!

mickeyd...we work right long the side with a HUGS group. Do you know a Cathy S.?

Comment by mickeyd on November 5, 2013 at 12:13pm

I have a similar post as JerseySusan. If you have or know a son or daughter that is deployed over the Christmas holiday, I would love to have their address to send a package from HUGS that operates out of my church. Especially looking for Georgia military enlisted. Please friend me with their address ASAP.
