lisa, dear momma-thank you for sharing this and i am making a list of ideas and suggestions for Sharon just in case she doesn't log on and see all the wonderful and caring notes to her and the family. i found out about the caringbridge last year when a childhood friend of my husband became ill with cancer. Mike was such a wonderful man...retired SWAT team member who did get to finally realize his life long dream of becoming a special education teacher after he retired from the police department. Mike's wife has been employed at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for almost 30 yrs. we bonded on sooo many levels with Mike...our love and respect for law enforcement, my husband's childhood friendship, Mike's love for special needs children(we have one...a daughter) and his wife's dedication to St. Jude's.
in these days of world wide turmoil we all are comforted by the love that is out there....just to be received from those who give it so freely.
Good news Mommas-talked to Sharon (AuxLady) earlier. Emory Univ. Hospital has done a reevaluation and revised diagnosis. Lymphocytic Leukemia and the doctors tell Tom (the dad) that there is an 85% cure rate!! Praise the Lord!!!
Brian has a long road ahead of him. he will definitely be in the hospital for the next 27 days and will be on a 27 day rotation of chemo.
Sharon is still crying, Sharon is still worried and Sharon wants to be with her son more than any thing in this world BUT Sharon knows the power of prayer....boy howdy i'd say!!!
the family never leaves Brian's side and they are working with the hospital on more affordable and suitable accommodations.
i made 3 suggestions to Sharon....start a blog so we can keep up with Brian's progress, go to the bank and tell them what happened so they can help her set up a fund to help with the horrific costs they will be facing while Brian is so far from home. the last suggestion was to log onto to N4Ms and see all the wonderful prayers and words of encouragement. i chose one and read it to her over the phone to show her what she is missing....she cried and was overcome with all the words of love and support.
i'll be back as soon as i have more details.
Sharon's page is open so if you would like to post a comment of well wishes and words of encouragement you don't have send a friend request. i had one of my N4Ms friends try it and it worked!!!
Hello Moms, tonight i got a phone call from AuxLady (Sharon) asking me to contact you. Her Sailor son Brian has been stricken with Acute T-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma and has been medevaced from Kings Bay, GA to Emory University Hospital. his wife and infant daughter along with his father, two brothers and a sister in law are there in a hotel 9 miles from the hospital. Sharon can not travel due to her injuries from an accident while she was delivering the mail.
tonight i am asking for you to lift Brian and his family up in prayer. please contact anyone anywhere near Emory Univ. Hosp. that can help this family. i can send you his full name in a private message.
Sharon was screaming "Connie please contact the Georgia Peaches I know they will help us"....so i have....Sharon isn't a member of your group. Her home is in PA. Brian was an MA in Kings Bay. she is a desperate Navy mother reaching out for any help you can give her.
