I'm all in for a get together!
Would also love to find out more about volunteering to support our troops! I have seen a few names of organizations here and there on N4Ms. Any info on local organizations would be great. Thanks.
Wonderful Florence! Spiritof76 ...does that mean you live in the Cobb area?
Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is anyone here that has a sailor stationed out of Kings Bay. My son deployed around January 30, but I cannot remember the name of the sub he is on. Would anyone happen to know the name of it or even better have a sailor on board too? I am trying to find out if they will be able to make contact while they are out. Please respond
Andra
Welcome Spiritof76! Yes, keep your eye on the group. Navy Week in Atlanta was in October but we often have smaller lunches just because the Navy families are the best.
They rotate Navy week each year - so the next one will be in Chattanooga in June and I am working on some plans for that week and will keep you posted as we know them.
Hi all, I've been a busy gal, had our sweet grandbaby in town for a week and started a new job. I haven't worked in two years so my head is spinning. I will be in S. California the next two weeks but home on the weekends. Would love to get together for lunch -- someone just needs to plan it!
Jean --- been thinking of you as your son sails away. Diane, are you hearing much from your son since he left? Our son will be deploying again in a few months and rumor is he WILL be coming home for leave first so we will be flying our daughter and grandbaby home so he can meet his niece for the first time. I so hope it happens!
Not much longer before Jean and Irene join the "grandma" club! We sure have some lovely weather this weekend. We need to get together soon ladies!
Welcome to our newest members!
Hi everyone! From what I've been reading, I'm not alone in not having been visiting here for a while. Hello, Mary, Irene, Jean. When are we having another get together? How's the job Mary. I'm still looking, but I'm keeping busy writing a book instead. Jean. Hello Grammy7101! I have the exact same questions you do. Where do you find the webcam. My son left San Diego on February 1 for 7-months. I would have LOVED to see it take off...even though he wasn't on it at the time. He waits for a few hours, then flies his jet out to the carrier. He was so excited he was the first to land and the first to catapult off of it when he went out. (he always had to be at the front of the line when he was a kid). We miss him so much and just sent out our first package to him. I wonder how long it will take. How's the grandbaby, Mary? It seems I'm on facebook more so I can see the newest pictures of our little Emma. She's now 4-1/2 months and is rolling and rolling and rolling around the house!
Best wishes to all.
Hi all,
I, too, have not been on very much. I, do read the post from you ladies. It's very enlightening and very informative. My grandson is in Virginia. I am a Virginia native and still have lots of family there so he is not alone. He will be home net month and i will be so very happy to see him.
I am curious as to how you can see them when they are leaving for deployment on webcam. It would be nice to know.
Hope all you ladies are doing well. God bless our young men and women who are serving our wonderful country.
