Mary - GREAT start to the day! I'm glad you got to talk to him! I texted my son this morning but I didn't get a response...I'm hoping I can talk to him later on tonight.
mmmm Hawaii sounds wonderful! I've never been. Maybe my son will get a chance to be there someday so I can visit! :)
LeeAnn, Nick has been @ Pearl Harbor for the past 18 months if you have any questions.
We could never get him to the pool or the beach here but since arriving in Hawaii, he's become a total beach bum on the weekends!
Kay, I am sorry for your worries and I have sent you a private message.
Ladies, don't we love the weather in Atlanta this week?!
Well, I am confused and I don't know what my son is thinking or why...
Brandon was doing well in Nuke school to my knowledge. We had high hopes for him and he made it thru boot camp...
I get a phone call last week from the Navy telling me of my son's status which was not good and they were going to issue a warrant for his arrest. Apparently, he is very depressed and he went A-wall. I got him to answer my phone call and I told him to go back ...he did and I am not certain what is going on now. He says they are letting him go but I talked to him last nite and he sounded tired and i know he is not in the school anymore. He is having to clean a lot, and as a mom having a mom's intuition..I feel he is having to be punished for his actions for a length of time; however, I am lost and I have no idea what is going on. I am worried about him. It is not like him to give up. He has never given up. How can I find out anything more than what my son is telling me. Is there anyone I can call to find out what is their next move with him?
thanks for any information.
Kay
That's funny CCO727 - I told my HUSBAND he had to do the same thing - cut those strings! I think he was more upset leaving him after graduation than he was dropping him off for Boot Camp. It sounds like your boys have good heads on their shoulders and will make the best of their situation wherever they are.
My son is off to Pensacola for A school. I believe he will be an AO? Hopefully I will find out more when he calls tomorrow or Wednesday.
Well my Sailor arrived in Kings Bay Georgia this weekend. This is his first duty station. I am nervous for him. There have been good reports and of course some negatives that others have given him about being stationed there. He goes by the motto that it is what you make of it, so I hope that once he gets situated he finds his nitch. I am nervous for him, but boy are those apron strings hard to cut! Next week his brother will go to his first station in South Carolina. UGH more apron strings! They are twins and will be going their own paths now. Not sure who has more anxiety about it --- them or me....ok, it's me! : )
KDB1 - Congrats to you and your son! Our son PIR'd on June 4, 2010, and yep, the feeling of elation is still there! Very hard to have no contact for 8 weeks! Which A School will he be going to?
Mary - good luck on the new job. Not always an easy thing to do, but sometimes change can be a good thing.
