Thanks Mary.  Yes, hearing 1000 sailors recite the Sailors Creed sent chills down my spine and tears in my eyes!  Won't ever forget it!

Good luck in your new venture!

I guess my new venture will be learning more about A school and the things to come for my sailor! :)

KDB, congrats to you and our newest sailor.  You will carry the memory of that PIR with you forever.  Ours was three years ago and I can still remember those doors rolling up :-)

Hisartistmom, we are so sorry to hear of your son's medical discharge.  Had he completed his Nuke schooling yet?  If so many of his classes will convert to college credits if going to college is in his future.  He may also  be able to find government work and because of his military background , he will get higher consideration.  I hope medically he is okay, I know things may seem very dark today but our prayers are with him as he goes forward.

Welcome Snowman's mom and all of our new members!!

Pam, I love Italy - what a great duty station.  Our son is in Hawaii and he loves to call us and say..yeah just got back from the beach.  Brat!!!  :-)

Hope everyone is well, after a two year break from working.  I start a new job on Monday so I'm excited and busy here.

Well, I am happy to report there is another US NAVY SAILOR from GA!  My son graduated BC yesterday morning!  What a thrill!  I went to graduation but am now back home in ATL.  I got to have a the afternoon with my son.  I am so proud!  His dad and girlfriend are spending the rest of the weekend with him.  I had to come back and attend to younger children activities.

hisartistmom-my prayers are with your family.  I hope all goes well for your son.

It is with regret that I tell you all Navy Moms and family good-bye and best of blessings and courage and love. My Nuke son is being medically discharged from the Navy.

I have no idea where he will go from here. He had such a wonderful opportunity. God bless you all. Kay

Italy is beautiful and we are saving for our trip next year to go see him.  I have to laugh because I get mopey sometimes and then I see the photos he's posting on Facebook, and that little booger is having the time of his life!  I know he still gets homesick, but he's truly making the "most" of it.

Did your son go in as an officer?  That's what we tried to get Jamie to do, but he was too impatient.

KDB1 - So did you get the "I'm a Sailor" call?  We were checking into our hotel in Great Lakes when we got ours.  Seems like yesterday, but it's been 9 months since that day.  I miss my little guy terribly today, but I"m sure I"ll be ok tomorrow!!

Snowman's Mom - Welcome!!  My son is stationed in Italy for 22 months, not that I'm counting or anything!  Ha, ha.  He's a Corpsman, so he's working at a clinic there.  He loves what he does, so how could I not be happy for him!!
