That's a wonderful welcome party Mary!!  Looks like we're going to get a second snow/ice day here in Conyers.  Cabin fever starts to set in after a while!  We've watched several movies, drank all my diet coke and now started on my stock of wine and have had just about enough of the non-stop news coverage!!  I20 is a mess and I hear they shut it down completely.  We've lived in Conyers for 10 years and I think this may be the worst one we've seen so far.

Stay safe and warm everyone!!

Proud USA Mom, yikes.

I'm visiting my new granddaughter in NY and our weather here is milder than GA!  Just talked to my hubby who I left behind for a few days and it sounds like that ice might be an issue tomorrow too.

Jean, so glad you got your son for a few days.  Looks like he made it out of GA just in time!

Here's what I found waiting for me at the airport when I arrived:

Snow is beautiful but just now started sleeting! YUK!  My younger two boys are out playing and sledding!  FUN!  I'm inside watching with my warm cup of coffee! :)

Everyone have fun and be safe!

Oh my Navy moms in Ga. The glisstening of the snow is so pretty. I have been going in and out taking pictures. Some of my dogs have really had a great time in it. Monday will be Canon Moments. Gwinnett has closed schools. So I will be taking pictures-scrapbooking-making S'mores!

Hi all,

Just checked the weather report  and it doesn't sound as bad as originally discussed but I agree Pam, ice on top of snow makes for an ugly day.  Hope everyone can stay in and safe from in.

I'm actually in upstate NY visiting with my new granddaughter (yes, she's a princess!) and there is probably six inches on the ground and more coming down but they are used to it here.

Randolphnavy, are you referring to the barracks on base (?) that is where Nick is now but you have to move out when you are an E5 and he starts getting paid for that on Jan 16th so he has 10 days to move.

Ditto!  Hope everyone stays warm, dry and safe and keeps their power!  Good luck to all!

Hope everyone stays safe with this storm coming in.  It looks like they've backed off a little bit on the total snow in my area, but 3 inches and then ice on top is still bad.  We are well stocked on wood for the fireplace and food in the cabinet.  And apparently everyone in Conyers was at the local Wal-mart, Kroger and Publix yesterday clearing them out!!  Stay safe everyone!

Mary the single guy housing in hawaii on base is super nice.Very tall building.Has he found out if there were any available spots open and then when he meets some other single guys they can share a house together. That is usually what the guys did that we knew.
