So my husband is in Aschool in Pensecola right now and will be finished around May or June. Hopefully we will get orders around then. From everything we've delt with so far it seem like orders come a couple days before graduation witch doesn't leave much time to look or a place or have him help move on his leave time. We will have about 2 weeks of leave but from stuff I've read, they ussually only allow one week? I was considering doing the move myself, but with 2 kids ages 3 and 2 should we just let them pack and move us? Also thoughts on on or off base? How much money should we have saved up if we aren't going to move ourself? How do we get our vehicle to where we are going to be and what not if they move us and we just fly? Base housing or off base? I've heard some base housing can be full and they have waiting lists, this true? We were thinking of having him fly home for leave to help with the move, but now I'm thinking save the money and just meet him to our new duty station and take leave then. Is that possible?
If anyone has any suggestion on making this transition easier let me know, or even can give me some insight as to what happens. Thanks!

With little kids, it is often easier to have a packout.  However, you still get to drive to the new duty station, as the Navy does not ship vehicles.  He should get his week of leave, plus a few travel days to make the move.  When he gets his orders in hand, he needs to contact his new command, and/or his sponsor, and let them know he requires the ten days of house hunting leave.  They may or may not be able to grant it to him, but it should be possible.  This is not charged against his earned leave, it is extra time to find a place and get you moved in.  Once he gets his orders, he also needs to request DLA dislocation allowance, in order to have some cash up front for the move.

I would suggest you begin sorting and cleaning now.  Toss, sell or donate whatever you can feasibly.

On base housing is not always on base, it is privatized neighborhoods.  Yes, sometimes there is a wait list, and you will need to rent while waiting, with a clause in the lease which lets you move when housing opens up.  Or you may be able to move in right away!  Other places will have areas which offer a BAH rebate for certain units.  To get an idea of what the places are like, you can search for Lincoln housing and look at what is offered in different bases.  He can get you on a wait list when he gets orders in hand, not when he checks in.  Having military neighbors is both good and bad, they can be great support or terrible snoops.

I hope that helps for starters.

I wrote up my experience with our first PCS, A-School to first duty station.  It won't answer all of your questions, but it might help with some.  Also, the amounts of entitlement pays are off, as this was done in 2012 and the amounts have been changed.  I don't know offhand what they are anymore, but to the best of my knowledge that is the only thing that has changed.  If you find other things have, please let me know so I can update as needed.

Good luck!  Don't stress and just try to go with the flow on it, or you'll pull your hair out.  :)  I waited until the night before we left to book our hotel stops for our drive from IL to CA.

Holy hell I had no idea they didn't ship vehicles. We planned to drive if we were staying west coast, but if its Jacksonville that's a LOT of gas and time with two littles. Would we get reimbursed if I flew with the kids? I would assume probably not....

My dad was Navy, long ago, and I think those cross-country moves were the root of my love for long car trips.

If you drive, you will be reimbursed for the gas.
