My fiance leaves for Bootcamp tomorrow and i am a mess. i haven't stopped crying. I am so proud of him but so nervous at the same time. I would love to meet some other people who have loved ones leaving for Great Lakes tomorrow.

I was actually just thinking about the day my bf left for bootcamp. He left September 17th, and he texted me until the very last second before they had to put their things away. After that, it was just a waiting game. It's going to be hard, I'm not gonna lie, but just try to stay strong! You can always vent here and we can try to help you cope with the sadness! We've all been there, or for some (sailors lady) will be there soon. We're all here for you!!
I am not going to lie - this is going to be one of the hardest things you will ever go through. But the good news is, you will get through it! My fiance left on the 26th of September, and the first few weeks are definitely the hardest. As time passes, though, it will get easier, especially once the first letter comes. You just have to hang in there, and write him! Everyday, if you can. He will appreciate it so much. One way or another, I have found that the days do go by, and every day is one day closer to being together again! I found a lot of comfort on this website and also on Facebook groups. We're all in this together! Feel free to send me a message if you ever want to talk, because I know what you're going through and what you are feeling.
Feel free to send me a message if you ever want to talk!! My fiance graduated bootcamp on September 7th and graduated A school last week..it's been one hell of a roller coaster but I don't regret a single thing. Bootcamp is hard, I'm not going to try to sugar coat that...the first three weeks when you're waiting for the first letter is hell, but it's also the worst part. Once you survive those three weeks, it gets a lot easier. Just keep yourself busy and the 8.5 weeks will be over before you know it, and you'll be running into his arms at graduation in next to no time.. :)
My cousin leaves tomorrow for boot camp at Great Lakes! My boyfriend left for boot camp in June and is currently in ACU at Groton, CT. If you need/want any advice I would be happy to help!
We all have been where you are now but the time does go by faster than what you think. It goes by faster for them cause they are so busy my bf graduates next Friday Nov 2. Cant believe it has already been 2 months keep busy and in about 3 weeks you should get your first later than in about a month after he has been gone you will get a phone call keep writing him cause thats what is gonna help him through as well this web site is great and will help you get through it..........
