Hi lipperk07, It is great to see another lady with a loved one on the same ship and div as my son.
If I may ask, how did you find out his address if you have not rec'd the form letter? Just curious, because I read so many different things about phone calls and letters before he left and then more after he was at "BC". So, I will ask God to please allow you to hear from your Sailor soon. Amen!
I'm so sorry you have not gotten ANYTHING yet. I'm sure you will have something today or tomorrow. The waiting game is very hard and when your fiance' does call, it may be short and sweet or it may be a longer call. I think it just depends on the RTC and the individual "SR."
I rec'd the 1st call from his cell phone when he arrived at the airport. I rec'd the form letter approx 6 days after Alec left. Then an official phone call from him on Oct 31 (9 days after leaving for BC). He did apologize for not calling me FROM "BC," when he got to the base. He said, "I was helping another person out and missed my phone call." The call was so short that I did not ask a lot of questions. He sounded great and so respectful. He was happy to be able to talk to me. I asked if he was getting enough rest and he said that he was. He just sounded like Alec, (just far away from home). I did hear others in the background and he said they were practicing their "MARCHING."
I just wanted to share my information and experience with you in hopes it might ease your heartache. I hope that it helps. :)
