For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My son (and DIL) are both out of the Navy now. They are living in Michigan and our first grandbaby (their son) just turned 1 in May. Loving being a Lolli. We bought a condo right near them and hope to retire there (from CA to MI) in the next 1 1/2 - 2 years. They both used their GI bills to get their undergrad degrees at MSU - and she's using hers to finish up her Master's too. They bought a new home almost 4 years ago, again, thanks to the Navy and their GI Bill!

My son was in the PIR on 12/21/2012. He was stationed in SD attached to a LCS for a few years, then deployed to Japan and Guam. He has new orders and will be leaving his current base soon. He is hoping to hear good news on his chief exam later this year.

Congratulations to all who have new SIL/DIL and grandbabies. I hope everyone is doing well and that your sons/daughters are safe wherever they are in the world.

Both are veterans now. It was a beautiful ceremony here in CA and now they are back in Michigan. It was a fast 4 days and I miss them already!

If you have not been active since 12/1/15 you will be deleted to make room for new members. You will be able to re-join. If you don't want to be deleted you will need to post something to activate your account. They have already started deleting members.
