Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

ACCESS LIST for PIR

The Nov 30th PIR is having a change in policy because of the size of the PIR...15 Divisions. ALL GUESTS, including Active Duty/Retired Military and those guests ages 3 and up,  must be on the Access List for entry to PIR.  Those NOT on the Access List will not be allowed entry to PIR and there is NO standby list.

The No Standby's (Extra Guests above the four maximum on the Access List) actually began at the 10/19 or 10/26 PIR. So, this will apply to your PIR as well.

So the below policy for the Access List still applies to your PIR and the 12/21 PIR: (From RTC Website FAQ's, Last Modified 11/15/2012)

Recruits are permitted to place up to four names on the access list. Please coordinate with your Recruit as only Recruits may place names on the list. RTC can neither change these names nor release the names of those on the list. Children age 12 and younger do not need to be listed on the access list and will not count toward the maximum number of guests. Active Duty and Retired military personnel will not count toward the maximum number of guests and do not need to be listed on the access list, but must present a valid Active Duty/Retired military ID card. All guests 18 years and older, must present valid government issued photo identification (driver’s license, state ID card, passport, military ID card). Guests 17 years or younger who do not possess one the items listed above must present one of the following: school ID card, driver’s permit, copy of their birth certificate or social security card. PLEASE DO NOT CALL FOR ADDITIONAL SEATS.

THEN they have stated the NEW POLICY CHANGE that will take effect after Jan 1, 2013 on their Website: (From RTC Website Upcoming Graduation Page, Last Modified 11/19/2012 )

The following RTC policy will be enforced for all graduations beginning with the January 4th, 2013 PIR. ALL GUESTS, including Active Duty/Retired Military Personnel, and those aged three and older MUST be on the access list. (Please note: Children two and under do not need to be on the access list.)

In addition, someone asked about the possibility of adding their extra guests guests to another recruits Access List. It is against RTC Policy to do so. See this FORUM Discussion:

If we bring extra people can they wait some where while we attend graduation so they can visit after the graduation? If so where?

They will have to wait off base somewhere. The Hotel or another place you wish to coordinate.

So for the 12/21 pir, extra people cannot wait in the nex? Leave them at the hotel.
That is correct...no where to wait on base. RTC wants them to wait off base.
Do we have to have a parking pass to get on the base?

Yes, you do. Did you print one out and bring it?

vjustmep:  If you can't print one, take a hotel shuttle or plan to park at the train station (paid parking) and walk the 75 yds or so over to RTC. You only need the gate pass if driving onto the base.
