Hello ladies! I just wanted to reach out to anybody who had a recruit leave on the same date! I could really use somebody to count the days down with that understands the struggle! Anyone get a box or PIR date yet or address? I know all of this comes at once, but I kinda think his PIR date will be 2/7/14 I hope that is correct atleast. I'm fairly new to all of this I'm flooding my brain with info to help with the worry. Is it too early for phone calls? I know he wont be able to write until next Sunday probably. I began writing letters yesterday. Any advice or conversation would be great!

Hi, my SR left on the 11th also. I got the box on Saturday, and I'm still waiting on the form letter. I got a call from the recruiter, and it looks like my SR got assigned to division 913, and if my information is correct, the PIR date will be 2/7/14. I'm counting the days as well, and the first couple were really hard. I can already feel it getting better though. Just remember, time's always passing, so you guys can only get closer to seeing each other again (: Hang in there, the first week is almost over!
You're right! Time is always passing. I finally started to be a little more comfortable today with him being gone. The holidays coming up is what makes me uneasy. I'm glad you got his box, his family and I are still waiting to receive his. I hope his date is 2/7/14 as well. I'm eager to find out his division. Have you gotten any letters yet? Do you think I should send him any stamps or a phone card in my first letters or should I wait for him to say he needs those?
His box should arrive soon if not today. I haven't gotten any letters yet; they may not get to write until the second or third Sunday, I think. The recruiter just got back to me with an address! I'm pretty stoked, but I'm also cross-checking information from the recruiter with this site, and vice-versa. Hmm, I would personally send them if I can, just in case. I think it's better for them to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I'm also unsure when they'll be receiving the letters from us, since they need to be assigned to a permanent address and have a mail officer before they can receive mail. At this point I just can't wait to be able to communicate again.
Nope, my form letter didn't come with the box. They're sent separately, as far as I know (FedEx for the box, USPS for the letter). I think I'm going to throw in some stamps in my letters too. Thanks! I think planning for graduation will help too. It's almost been a week; I'm doing the old-fashioned crossing off dates on the calendar thing. I'm just looking forward to the form letter now. I know a lot of families are getting them. I'm glad you have your boyfriend's information and can start sending him letters!
I actually spend a lot of time writing letters. We spend a lot of time our together, and if we're doing our own thing we usually know what the other person is up to, so I'm writing journal-style letters. Oh, also, I was made to promise to do at least one thing that makes me happy every day, so I work on that and include it in my letters as well. I know what you mean about communicating during work. I'm actually still sending texts every so often because it's comforting. The cell phone service has been suspended, but I figure the messages will still be readable when service is reactivated. Yes, congratulations to all of us that have made it through the first week! i do believe it will get easier. I hope you had a great day (:
My husband and I got married recently I still have two years left of school and plan to stay at my university. If you know that you will be together after school then getting married now allows you to get the benefits that the Navy offers. For us, its MYCAA which is financial support for tuition.
