For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

EDUCATION FOR NAVY WIVES???
Hello ladies, I am getting married in August to my sailor and he insists on me going back to school, which i am all for but i'm having a hard time finding what benefits will be available to me as a spouse. I have already done a year and a half in college but my credits wont transfer to WA (our duty station). I hate that i have to start all over and i'm going to need all the financial help i can get. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!!

MYCAA will only go towards an associates and certificate program, though.
Honestly, if you are married or you are no longer your parent's dependent, FAFSA can really help you out a lot. The federal government will give you a ton of money to go to school if you don't make a lot. Also, if you're married, there's plenty of scholarships out there you can apply for, you just have to search. You will also qualify for in-state tuition since you are married and he is stationed there.
There are plenty of opportunities, but you can't just wait for them to hit you in the face. You have to go out looking for them!
Also, I've heard Olympic College has a great nursing program. They also have a few other 4 year programs. However, if you're looking for a big name school, you'll have to commute. I applied to University of Washington (The Tacoma Campus. There's also a Seattle campus).
Just start googling and eventually you'll come upon something. :)

FASFA def for sure get on that asap! If they try to make you pay to submit it run! Its the FREE application so thats a very important to know! :) It should be through a .gov site if I remember right! Start googling scholarships! start applying! I think scholarship.com is one you can use. Its pretty much like a google for scholarships! There are quite a few of them. Just google scholarship search engines Sign up and start applying some are as easy as filling out a form, others will be based on attributes you may have such as race, gender, field, etc.
also like Emily said MyCAA is only for associates and if it doesnt cover it all you pay the rest. But its a good program.
Also, if you have a school in mind you like apply for their scholarships! Declare a major asap when you decide for sure because a lot of departments have scholarships specific to their dept. So say you wanted a degree in Photography some places have tuition waivers available to a limited number of photog majors. :) hope that helps! You really do have to be proactive keep applying even if you think you have it paid for. A lot of places will give you a check for books and other expenses.
Also if you are looking for cheap books check out big words. you need to know what book you need beforehand but it will search all the sites and find them cheapest. Also, you can get a free trial membership of amazon prime with an edu address so thats a good way to get some deals on books with free shipping. :)
