Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I would check the weather to be double sure buuut I am betting it will be chilly! My hubby's PIR was last Feb (right after a huge blizzard) I wore a pair of leggings, some flat boots (you have to walk all over!!), and a cute sweater dress with short sleeves tho... I wore a jacket bc its cold outside but it can get hot in the building if there are a ton of ppl like their was at the one I went to so I could take my jacket off and be comfortable. :) That way you look cute and its not too dressy not too casual. Plus I am telling you honestly the sailors will laugh at you if you are wearing something to skanky. (Not to be rude but I heard them making fun of these two girls in front of me with stillettos and short skirts on.)

welcome! Just make sure whatever it is you are comfy enough because you will be walking across base and back again. and you will have to sit in bleachers for about 3 hours lol.

My hubby's was two years ago in Jan and I wore I really nice sweater, nice jeans and boots. There were people there that did not dress up at all and it was kinda trashy but you don't need to go overboard.

Be sure you wear something you want your picture taken in. Weather looks like fifties and cloudy/rainy.
