Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Norfolk, VA Housing HELP!
Hi everyone!
My boyfriend and I are considering getting married. We have been together for 4 years and being apart is getting very difficult. He is stationed in Norfolk, VA and I want to get as much information about different housing as possible. Which areas are the safest? etc. I have lived with my parents all my life and I don't want to be in a place where I don't feel at ease. If you could please share with me your experiences on on-base housing that would be fabulous. He says he would like to live in VA Beach or Hampton. I am completely clueless about the housing process etc so please help!

do you have a facebook? If so there is a group called Navy Wives of Hampton Road and Virginia Beach, they have a lot of ladies with experience of the area. I would suggest that if he is stationed at Norfolk you probably dont want to be on the Hampton side. If possible stay down south. There is a tunnel connecting the two sides and it can be difficult to get through. (I am talking houuuurssss!, so it could suck for a daily commute.) Also, idk what univeristy, or school you are looking for but I would research the ones in the area. Old Dominon is really close to the base I think. I will be over there early next year so I have been researching :)
