Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Pregnancy during deployment
So a little about me, my husband is a Corpsman in the Navy and will be deploying soon. We are both 27 and are want to start building our family before he leaves. However, I am so nervous about getting pregnant in a town without my family and only a few good friends. They all say they will help but it's still a little nerve racking not knowing for sure if anyone will be there. I can't go back home because we have a house here and this is where I will have all the new baby stuff, not to mention this is where my doctor is. So many girls with two children have had both experiences, having their husband here and gone for a pregnancy and birth and they all say they liked the pregnancy and birth more when he was deployed. I'm just worried about Postpartum Depression and being alone because not many people can just take off work to come stay with me in the first couple weeks.
So my question is....has anyone had a baby while their husband is deployed? And if so, how did that affect you? Did you have any help? And what would you recommend I do?
