Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Schools in San Diego
I've decided i want to ahead and try to get my associate degree while were out here but I'm having trouble finding schools since I don't know whats accredited and what isn't. Id also prefer to find one where i could do most of my courses online since i don't have a car. If anyone knows a place out here or even an online college that's actually worth it and is accredited please let me know. We're in point loma, just to give an idea of the area.

Over in Linda Vista is Mesa College, part of the California university system, and accredited. A bit of a pain to take the bus over there from where you are, but it can be done. I went there, and worked in their Adult Education Annex office. They are a good two year college, perfect for a two year program. They have day and night classes, and when I attended, military spouses got resident tuition for their first year. Many students who couldn't get into SDSU went there for their first two years worth of prerequisites. Day and night classes.
Call them, they can tell you which other campuses are in their system.

They also offer online courses!
My credits from there transferred easily to a university here in Utah as part of my teaching BS.

oh this is part of the community college district, i was looking at them earlier, nice to know they're actually accredited and all.
Also curious since i will probably only have time to get an associates, do they transfer from this region to the south? Or would I have to go ahead and get a bachelors?
