For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Are you moving to you first duty station? They told us that we had to let them move us for our first move. That we were no longer allowed to do a DITY move first time around. We moved from great lakes to san diego. We went through the whole process in Jan of 2015. But the rules seem to always be changing. I'm sure relocation can recommend moving companies to you, if you're allowed to do it yourself. They got us quotes to ship one of our cars because for some reason the navy wouldn't pay to ship either of them. So we shipped one and I'm driving the other.

We moved our stuff from Montana to Pensacola for a couple thousand dollars if I remember correctly. The only reason we did that was because my husband will be here for A school for 25 weeks and they told us they wouldn't move our stuff unless it was 26 weeks or more (go figure). Anyways we used United. They were great to work with. But honestly it will really depend on where you're moving to, how much stuff you have, how many valuables you have, and whether you plan on packing all of your own things or not. I packed all of our stuff to save on cost (it's a headache trust me). But we don't even have a lot of stuff and it was still expensive. Call companies and they would be happy to give you an estimated quote.
