For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

aaronsgirl11 I totally know what you mean! I think I'm in the smaller percentage of people who actually am greatful for what boot camp has done for our relationship. I mean, boy were we close before but we are THAT much stronger as a couple now and I didn't even know that was possible! Haha. I definitely see A School as another looming challenge off in the distance- I know the dynamic will change and sometimes when I miss him most talking on the phone just makes me miss him more. Though it's hard logic to follow and probably sounds really illogical to most, it's kinda how I'm feeling right now.
TRat829 I am so sorry you're going through such a rough time right now! I haven't had any experiences with my fiance being deployed yet, but I have had other family members and though I know its not the same I get how terrible it can feel. I'll be praying and sending good thoughts your way and if you need anything let us know :)

My husband just left tonight and He is going on a 7 month deployment in April. So sad to see him go. I couldnt go with him because ive been in the hospital due to phneumonia. But I am going through a rough time i know this really isnt following yalls conversation but I needed to vevnt to some people who may understand

Hello ladies!!!! So I am so happy my hubby is in boot camp (graduates on april 16th! =]) and for Easter he had it arranged before he left that i came home to flowers today!!! Oh my gosh it was so sweet! He got me tulips, my favorite! I knew yall would appreciate it!!

When he was in boot I tried not to get my hopes up for anything. I learned not to assume I'd have a letter in the mail, or two letters because if I didn't I knew how crushed I'd be. That way I was ecstatic with whatever I did get. He's in A school now, and this may seem crazy and sound horrible to most of you, but in a way I miss boot camp. It made our relationship so much stronger and it made us realize how much we really mean to each other. It is nice to talk to him during A school, but I'm starting to take talking to him for granted again. The letters were amazing, and I'd love to have them back.

I agree on missing him. The letters were amazing but, it just kept me wanting more like to talk to him or see him. I cannot wait until his PIR and I can see him.

SailorsGirl- I know what you mean. I've had 2 phone calls... the first one was b\c he had to have something faxed over, and the second one, his RDC let him call bc he was really homesick, said he missed me and our daughter too much. He even made the comment he was getting out of the Navy..(ended up sticking it through) I figured it was just a breakdown.. we've never been apart in 8 years. So now, I'm waiting for my letters to start rolling in next week, tomorrow will be the first time he's "been able" to write letters. He said he gets another call next week, sure hope his spirits have been lifted.. it killed me to hear him so upset :( All in all. it's been rough.. but I'm making. it. not much longer!

CC'sWifey- it's odd, I'm feeling the same exact way today too. I got letters from my fiance yesterday for the first time and though they were sweet and adorable and it was the best feeling ever, I find myself feeling a bit 'greedy' today regardless- wishing there were more letters, maybe even a phone call (he hasn't had one yet). I've been doing really well this whole time but for some reason it's just one of those days today. Think I'm going to go have a nice work out session to let off some steam and try to stay busy with friends tonight!

... just gonna add that I miss my husband extra much today.. He's all I've been able to think about on this Saturday.. Life just doesn't feel the same without him here. I'll be glad when this bc is over with, and communication is restored!
