I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

CCsWifey,.. oh my gosh, my heart is just aching for you right now! That would have to be the hardest phone call ever to receive and still keep yourself composed for him. I am so sorry. I will certainly keep you two in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I had some experience to share with you to put your mind at ease... maybe it was just a breakdown? I mean, I don't know about the Navy, but I know when my friend was in the Marines basic training the RDCs kept telling them that their wives and g/f were going to leave them and they would be alone and blah blah blah... trying to break them down, ya know? I hope that is not the case there.. My best advice is to just write him a big letter telling him all your feelings for him and your love for him. Assure him you aren't going to leave him. I actually just wrote a 3 page letter front and back on nothing but this topic to my husband because I didn't want him to worry that I would love him less without him here. I mean I went full out mushy lovey dovey on his ass lol but I know it's going to mean so much to him. Maybe you can do the same? and just assure him that any decision he makes will be supported by you and just let him know you are totally behind him in this and are there to support him. I wish I had better advice but this is all the experience I've had so far with the military as well. I will keep you in my prayers and if you need to talk please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.

Ok, so wow.. I have to tell you.. My husband called me last night, in tears. Said he couldn't do it anymore being away from me and his daughter. I've never seen him like this.. He kept saying, "I love you, please don't leave me" and I miss you and Kylie ( our daughter ) so much. He said his RDC let him call me because he's so upset. He said he was wanting out, and that his RDC said he could, it would jut be alot of paperwork. Before he let me go, (he was still crying and really upset, he had to take deep breaths just to talk) he said he would write me this sunday, and call me next week. He said he was going to talk over his options with his RDC. Ok, first of all, this came as a COMPLETE shock to me. It took everything in my body not to cry, just to keep him calmed down. He's always been a really strong person, and not dependent on anyone. He's trained for this well over a year... When he said he would write me Sunday, and call next week, I took it as he's going to try to stick with it. Maybe it was just a moment of weakness, and he just had to break down and get it out of his system. ? I was hoping he or someone would call me back to let me know something. I'm worried about him, and even tried calling every 847 number per-taining to RTC that I could, and got no where, no answer on any line. if he decides to get out, will they allow him to call me, or what would happen? Has anyone had this experience with their son/wife/daughter/spouse? He told me to keep writing him everyday ( and I have every since I've gotten his address ) He said he has to clear his head and get this thoughts together, that he had to hear my voice. --- Now, does this happen frequently with new recruits, what do I do. I've heard no news is good news, so if he hasn't called back, do I assume he's staying.. I'm confused, and my heart goes out to him. I've never seen him like this before. ????

CCswifey, I can barely wait to see my husband again! lol I've mailed him 11 letters (no exaggeration lol) and when he called he was just sooo happy to be getting mail. He said he has a pile of letters to send home but he won't be allowed until next week probably. lol I'll let you know when my brother's car is done and then *woosh* we're off to the future :) lmao

aaronsgirl...i have done the same thing. The journal is a lifesaver!
Comment by Emily-aaronsgirl11 on April 1, 2010 at 11:14pm
I kept a journal while my sailor was at boot. My sister, who had been through the experience with a Marine, suggested it. It really allowed me to write down all my negative experiences/thoughts that I had while he was away without sending them in letters to him and depressing him further. He read a little graduation weekend, but he'll read the rest some day. Meanwhile, I keep adding to it, mostly when I can't talk to him. It really helps to know that he'll eventually know what really happened those two months he was away...

Ok so I've decided that with all the thoughts and feelings going through my head I should keep a journal..Give me something to vent to and occupy me for a while..I looked around and couldn't find one I liked...Decided it would be fun to decorate my own and make it the way I want it..That is when i found this http://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_Decorate_a_Composition_Journal/
I thought maybe some of you would find it to be a good idea also..Tell me what you think=]

Jamie, Lauren and Kalyn - my boyfriend also graduates on April 23rd! Its getting so close, I'm so excited! Only downside is that I still don't know if he's a Grad and Go or not, i really hope not, plus I haven't had a call from him yet and neither has his mother. He's on LLD right now since his ankle was hurting if he jumped on it, so im hoping that wont affect his graduation date :/
Comment by Stephanie( Mrs. Davis) on April 1, 2010 at 8:58pm
Last August I had a friend graduating and I went to his PIR we didn't have the parking pass and my mom and best friend were not on the list and we were able to get in and see the graduation with no problem. I would go online and print the pass to make sure you have one. Also be there and early and you shouldn't have a problem.
